“Well, we’re working hard and for me personally. Hopefully, we can come up with a lot of wins at the end of the year. And we achieve the main goal of becoming champions and that’s the goal. I think for me as well is trying to score as many goals as possible in this league and it’s something new for me, but it means that everywhere I go I will give my best I’ll give everything I have to try and help the team and try and win as many trophies as possible. So yeah, that’s my personal goal.”

Born on 7th April 1999 in São Paulo, Brazil, Danilo Pereira da Silva has emerged as a prolific forward, showcasing his skills on football grounds across Europe. Currently, he’s marking his territory in the Scottish Premiership, playing for the renowned club Rangers.

Taking Flight in Brazil

From the bustling streets of São Paulo, Danilo’s passion for football saw him training with prominent youth clubs including São Caetano, Portuguesa, Corinthians, Ponte Preta, and Vasco da Gama. But it was with Santos’ academy where he truly shined, scoring seven goals and creating seven others for the U-20 team in the 2017 Paulista U-20 Championship.

Dutch Adventures with Ajax

The allure of European football beckoned when in September 2017, Ajax signed the young Brazilian for a deal estimated at €2 million. Starting with the Ajax U-19 and the Jong Ajax team, Danilo’s prowess was undeniable. His first goal for Jong Ajax came in September 2018 against Jong AZ.

Gradually making his way to the first team, February 2020 saw him stepping onto the Eredivisie pitch against Heracles Almelo. Within days, he announced his presence on the European stage, scoring against Getafe in a UEFA Europa League clash. However, a small controversy arose when he swapped shirts with Getafe’s Deyverson during half-time, leading to a heartfelt apology to the Ajax fans.

Ajax then loaned him out to Twente for the 2020-2021 season. Here, he set the league alight, bagging 17 goals, which ranked him fourth in the top scorer’s list. Before ending his spell with Ajax, he had a remarkable feat in January 2022, netting four times in a game against Excelsior Maassluis during the KNVB Cup.

A Championship Season with Feyenoord

Danilo’s journey continued when Feyenoord secured his services on a free transfer in May 2022. His debut season became memorable as he not only made a scoring debut against Vitesse but played a crucial role in securing the Eredivisie title. With 10 goals and three assists in 34 league games, he was instrumental in Feyenoord’s success.

Scotland Beckons with Rangers

Rangers, always in search of talent, noticed the young Brazilian. In July 2023, they signed him on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee rumoured to be in the ballpark of £6 million.
