Zardes and Altidore are not that good lol
You could have put Moses in there and it wouldn’t matter!!
Anyone know why Boyd didn't play in final?
The USA team needs major shake up but first get rid of Berhalter. A coaching change is required then start switching out a lot of the players.
Tim Ream was the weak link. Ream is good but no where as athletic as the guy's who played behind him. The second he went out Mexico pressure slowed
At least Zusi wasn’t called up
mayb but gb had to give gyasi a decent run of games. hopefully he wont be back in the team any time soon though. would like to see a 433, with mckenie bradley and adams in the midfield, pulisc on the right, PA on the left and jozy in the middle. D maybe nick lima on the left cannon on the right with like long and whoever beside him, cant be much worse than that second half.
I really don't understand why there is so much love for Altidore, and conversely, so much hate being piled onto Zardes. Neither are ideal #9's, and both bring different skillsets to the table. Personally, I'm pretty tired of hearing from Donovan, Edu, McBride about how great Altidore is, and yet, the guy misses a WIDE OPEN shot from the penalty spot in the 1st half that would've put the US in front, and likely change the outcome of that game. There's an obvious bias there because those guys played with Altidore, or were leaving right around the time he was coming into the national team. All that said, I have no problem with the US continuing the youth movement, and letting a Josh Sargent and Tim Weah get more experience over these vets, but lets stop pretending like guys like Altidore or Bradley are such better options than other guys on the roster, that's CLEARLY not the case
Host is delusional to say there hasn't been a change in the national team. That team playing Mexico would have blanketed Trinidad.
Let's put it this way, Sargent plays for Werder Bremen, and Weah for PSG. Where the heck are Altidore and Zardes playing….
En México nadie se habla de la copa de oro y estos putos siguen llorando!!Jajajaja
US soccer federation should be ashamed of themselves. Berhalter is a terrible coach.
Ok go ahead and throw Chucky Lozano, Herrera, and Layun in there to really push them even more LOL I get it this is a bias opinion but give credit to the game that was played.
Don't say what players would have been better if "they were there". ESPN failed to mention that. USA would have got picked apart if "A+ players" were all there. Plain and simple.
American analysts: should have, would have, could have. YOU HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE. Who the hell is Sargent? Unproven. you think this kid would have made a difference? Face it, the USMNT pool is short of talent and experience.
Soto Sargent and weah
Gyasi is good, you just have to be able to play to his skills and we aren't good enough to do that
All soccer pros, including Zardes, have fundamental skills and can do just about anything with the ball under no pressure. The difference in levels is how you handle the situation under pressure. When you have a player coming fast at you if you get nervous you can't be a good player. That's what happens to many US players. Running off the ball is key factor in the possession game today because you need to be open so your teammate can have the option passing the ball to you. Mex players are so confident in 1-on-1 situation, receive the ball and pass the ball good while running fast and under pressure. This is not easy to do. You need to be trained properly when young. Those of you here play soccer know what I'm talking about.
still would’ve lost
steps to fix the USMNT
step 1: Never play zardes
MEXICO was going to win anyways lol
Funny how all they talk about is Altidore holding the ball… forwards are supposed to SCORE GOALS
Zardes didn't start the final match. He wasn't responsible for the US not scoring on the numerous prime chances created. Zardes is not Sargent's competition. Sargent's competitions is other young and mostly unproven forwards like Soto, Novakovich, Toye, Ferreira, Ethan White, etc..
People are sleeping on Sargent. You heard it here. Coming from a Mexican
If Klinnsman was the coach, then Zardes and Mihailovic wouldve been home, for Sargant and Nokavavich, Altidore would've been sent home after the group, with weah coming in fresh of the U-20 WC Sosa also would've made the bench for the knockouts… The main problem is that the MLS and USSF have far too comfortable of a relationship with each other, which causes us to "force fail" the MLS players into the team. No other national league cares how many players are in its national teams. The USSF and MLS does and its costing us quality.
We have energy and effort. We lack soccer intelligence from the top down. We lack it because our coaches don’t value it. To them, Nigeria or Ghana should beat Spain or Croatia every time, except it never happens. Failing to recognize that the collective is more important than the one and failing to find those MFs who make everyone around them better are also issues, which arise from a profound misunderstanding about what attributes are valuable to the game.
USA just sucks 🤷🏻♂️
Zardes came in and played pretty well for the 25 min he was in. He had some good combination plays with Pulisic. Do people forget that Altidore missed our best chance of the whole game???! I'm not saying I prefer Zardes because I don't I'm just tired of all this hate Zardes is getting when especially when he didn't even play bad when he subbed in, in the 65th minute.
We’re playing MLS scrubs against world class players when we have world class players in European leagues. Our younger players need more caps and more experience together. This was disgraceful.
Changes su madre , y’all suck ass USA! Mexico is better at everything in soccer !💪🏼, Ik y’all better the first half but not that good tho💀
As a mexican fan i was actually relieved when i saw the lineup for u.s which had altidore and bradley.. i knew that they were not going to last long especially since they started with high intensity
Mexico didnt have Lozano, corona, herrera and Hernandez. If those players were there it doesnt matter who the US could've had they wouldve destroted them. That most of mexicos main attackers . and lets not forget about vela unfortunately he wont play with the national team no more.
I would have loved to watch this video, but Alejandro Moreno is obnoxious!
This is all about Zardes having a stunning white women and these bums dont. No way in hell Sargent or Weah are better than Altidore and Zardes.
Anyone else severely annoyed by ale Moreno 🥴
The U.S. came out aggressive in the first half, not allowing Mexico any space to come out playing from their defense and midfield. The high press was great with the forwards but as soon as they lost that intensity and Altidore got subbed out for Zardes they lost that edge up front. Mexico started to control the tempo of the game and got comfortable with the possession second half.
The thing is they lost to Mexico's B team
altidore, bradley + bad luck
The U.S has Incredible young talent coming in, just wait. I'm not worried at all.
Have we forgotten that we have never been able to play out of the back ever! Especially under pressure, american soccer still cannot keep possession out the back and through the midfield.
2014 – 2015 usmnt was the peak till it went to shit again
When are we going to realize the US is never going to be a serious contender in soccer. Our best athletes don’t play soccer until that changes we are going to be a okay team.
5:32 McBride's explanation is a microcosm (especially that quisling smirk at 5:40) of why the US sucks at soccer. When a broadcaster will openly say we should have beat the Mexicans and that performance was shameful then I would have hope for America having a culture that wants to win and does not accept defeat.
The results, Gyasi Zardes scored 3 goals. Goal scoring is what he was supposed to do and he did it. If Josh Sargeant gets a look, so be it. But the job is to score goals.
The scary thing in all this is that the USMNT lost to 🇲🇽 B squad. They didn't mention that.
Greg berhalter gonna final to qualify the U.S team in 2022.
Zardes has been shit for years. Never understood why if a guy isn't getting it done they keep them around for so long. It doesn't hurt to throw someone else in there who may not impress as much in league play. Zardes wouldn't have even been looked at it if he didn't start his career being fed by Donovan. It's not like someone else could be more shit.
As a person he seems like a good guy. It's no knock on him personally.
And history repeats itself.
Zardes and altidore are both garbage
