Aston Villa want to sign Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres, according to reports. The Spanish international previously played under Unai Emery and won the Europa League at Villarreal.

Always interesting to hear the inside track from Spain. I was sort of on the fence about him, not because I doubted his talent, it was more that I wasn't sure exactly if he was an upgrade as Mings and Konza were playing so well. After hearing further info on Pau's attributes including his age as I had forgotten he was only 26 yrs old. I am convinced he would be a perfect fit for the team.
I think he will be 40m to 45m with add-ons 🤔

Would love Pau Torres to sign, but be prepared for some scary moments. This guy is so confident in his abilities and thinks nothing of taking on the opposition in his own box. Great footballer though.
I'm really sceptical about this for all the reasons set out here. He's not great at all the things Mings is great at, and he is also very left footed. There may be a masterplan but I'm really not feeling this one
