Teams are going to more and more dig in their heels on contracts as the guaranteed money keeps climbing – if you sign a long term deal and you get the money then you are going to be expected to play out the contract no matter how much more a guy playing your position on another team is making. They are not going to redo a 5 year contract in three years.
