Jordan Henderson has joined Saudi Pro League team Al Ettifaq from Liverpool, the clubs announced on Thursday.

According to British media, Al Ettifaq will pay around 12 million pounds ($15.55 million) plus add-ons for Henderson, who will leave Anfield after a 12-year spell.

According to British media, the 33-year-old would be paid a weekly wage of roughly 700,000 pounds.

In a video released on social media on Wednesday, Henderson waved farewell to Liverpool supporters.

“It’s hard to put these last 12 years into words and it’s even harder to say goodbye. I will always be a Red. Until the day I die. Thank you for everything. You’ll never walk alone,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

Henderson will be reunited with former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq, where he was named coach on a three-year deal in early July.

Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and was named captain after Gerrard left for the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2015.

Henderson appeared in approximately 500 games for Liverpool in all competitions, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup.

Last season, Al Ettifaq finished eighth in the top-tier Saudi Pro League.
