So coming from a Spurs fan, the reason Hjojberg had such a drastic drop off was because his role changed so drastically, especially after Bentencurās injury. Look at his progressive passes attempted, long ball completion, passes attempted, etc. Conte was trying to use him as a midfield progressor who plays the ball before the final ball which if you know Hjojberg, thatās just simply not his role. His defensive numbers fell off a cliff, especially when played next to Skipp because simply put Skipp canāt do anything besides be a midfield destroyer, which forced Hjojberg to do things heās not comfortable with. In our champions league campaign he was actually our best player. If Simeone uses him in that Kondogbia role I think heās simply perfect and offers more from a progression standpoint than Witsel/Kondogbia did.
