David isn't as powerful as he use to be it may be the added weight training that is the deterrent. Watch the replay on Canelo vs Golovkin 2 and you immediately notice the reduced upper body muscle mass and improved speed, timing and consistency of Alvarez's punching arsenal on display. Canelo if in prime condition can really put the work on Benavidez and can spoil David's long term plans unless he makes the necessary adjustments in his training because their common opponent in Plant is very telling indeed.
Benavidez fighting on mexican dates wouldn't really do much since he isn't really known in Mexico to begin with
