  1. Fucking disgraceful the way that Arab Saudi GK put up his knee so high up, not knowingly he hit his own teammate instead. Now he learned his lesson the hard way did he? Fucking muppet.

FYI Yasser is in critical condition, hopefully he can recover from that horrific injury.

  2. I feel like, unfortunately, Fifa may be treating these situations as "diagnose after the match" situations because of their push to give more extra time. The games are already going a half hour long in some cases without proper concussion protocols, and with the way the games are spaced in TV windows, they may be worried about losing 10+ more minutes. Safety not first then? It seems so

  3. Thank you for that explanation.
Would injury to the neck be a concern? I remember seeing head seem to snap back in addition to the blow to the face. I was hoping they wouldn’t have him get back up because the crash seemed so traumatic. I thought they should protect his head and neck and take him to a medical center.
I knew trainers as a child, they were a medic level knowledge, so they would be able to asses broadly for a concussion, but the interests of the team may impact their decisions.
Agree that at all international sporting events there should be a doctor not affiliated to the teams on the field. And definitely a clearer protocol to protect players in the case of head injuries and really all serious injuries. Players are sometimes pushed to play with serious injuries.

Re: Yassar was flown to a hospital in Germany and was dx’d as having fracture of the jaw and also facial bones and with ‘internal bleeding’.
That was confusing because I always think of internal bleeding in terms of abdomen. But another article said bleeding in the head. He seemed to be stable last night and speaking from his hospital bed.
Especially if he had bleeding in his skull it really brings home how speed in making a proper evaluation is really critical.
    Thx again!

  4. I was truly worried the man had died when I saw how he got hit in the jaw and hit his head on the floor.
Glad he was able to gain consciousness and even walk a bit but I hope this doesn't have future affects on his life in the short or long term.

  5. Yasser Alshahrani thank god is getting well, he dropped a video telling his fans in KSA that he’s fine and he needs their prayers. May he get well soon amen.

  6. Yasser Al-Sharani had surgery for a “fractured jaw, broken facial bones and internal bleeding” according to Al Arabiya. He’s reportedly stable after surgery thankfully

  7. They don’t stop the game right away cuz Argentina was in a very dangerous position. They let play go on for a few more seconds and then if the ball is out or Saudi Arabia has the ball they then will stop the play.

  8. New report says he had also to conduct surgery to his pancreas due to hit he got from the other knee

    – pancreas
    – broken nose
    – broken jaw
    – other broken bones in the face
