My main concern about Dest leaving Barcelona is that I honestly don't know where he goes from here. It looks like Man United are the favorite to land him and its worrying because they have a reputation of ruining players and most of the players that have joined them have all declined and gotten worse. There's only two weeks left in the window and most of the top clubs have their team figured out I feel dest will end up having to downgrade massively if he leaves.

Honestly Xavi is being extremely arrogant. They only have 2 RBs including Dest and he's saying he doesn't want him. Im hoping this is the down fall of xavi

Here’s my theory: Xavi wants to sell Dest to get other players he wants that he likes better. So he’s leaving him out of the squad to tell him to leave the club, basically saying that he’s not going to get game time. HOWEVER, if he doesn’t leave and Barca don’t sign a right back (very possible), I think Xavi may be willing to use him. Xavi clearly rated him last year, and I cannot say enough how well he was playing before he got injured last year. He was fantastic. Araujo and Roberto aren’t the best options for a full season at RB, I think when push comes to shove Xavi will play Dest, he’s just keeping him off the squad to try and get him to leave. This is only a theory, and definitely a hopeful one

Honestly, even if he doesn’t play, that might be a better situation than going to Man United. I feel that could destroy his confidence. I would want him to stay far, far away from there and try to earn a spot at Barca

It is strange. Almost as though there was a falling out. In the summer Xavi praised the player at times and he is still 21. But it seemed almost sudden. Alves was an investment yeh to mentor but also to ease Xavis general approach THROUGH the squad and what Barcelona are about. I am not totally buying that it is all tactical. But it os what it is. Clearly Xavi doesn't want him so he has to be selfish now and consider whats best for his future. Whether it be to Germany or England. To Dests credit he is keeping his cards close and professional by saying he's still committed.
