On Monday (18th November), Portugal coach Paulo Bento considered the second leg in his team’s 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off against Sweden.

Paulo Bento, Portuguese coach:
“It would not be a disaster (if we lost). Tomorrow there will be two good teams, only one of them will participate in the World Cup, the other will stay home. We will try to be the strongest team, we will try, after Friday’s game, to play and win. That’s what we are interested in. To me football is about celebration, it is a form of entertainment, for me one that is better than other sports. There is no tragedy in football, football is about celebration and fun.”

Paulo Bento, Portuguese coach:
“It is very important to score goals. More than anything else, in our strategy it is very important to win. We have the advantage, by just one goal, this is not huge, it is not enough to make us feel comfortable. We are going to play with one aim that is to win – and, of course, to score goals.”
