look how lucky Mo is 1:14 he hits the red thing (dont know what the word is) and it bouces agianst his other skate! if he would have stept on it, it would have ended his race.
I find the way of camera viewing when the players are turning on the corner amazing!
Because he didn't perform well on the day, if you look up ice speedskating 500m world record you will find that Wotherspoon has skated a much faster time than anyone did at the 2010 olympics.
Guys, while it is true Wotherspoon is the fastest ever (and winningest ever also), he was slower than Mo Tae-Bum on that day by a lot. You also fail to consider the difference in ice speed between Salt Lake City (where Wotherspoon set his WR) and Richmond (Vancouver, where the Olympics were held), which is about 0,6 seconds on the 500m. Also, Wotherspoon set his WR two years prior to the Olympics, and it was ridiculous to expect him to win, since he wasn't close to being as good as he was in 08
And Wotherspoon failed to shine at the Olympics, but did really good in world championships, with 4 sprint titles and a few single distance titles as well.
And everybody always forget his silver medal at the Nagano Games (1998) when he was only 19 years old.

I remember watching this at Suwon Station in Korea. The entire crowd in that station was watching this on the big screen and going batshit the entire time!!
Still love to watch this race in 2021! He's not the fastest but his skating looks incredible. So manages to stay so low.
