  1. Haha, what do they teach in taekwondo other than patterns and a few kicks? I've trained both and prefer mma over taekwondo, you dont learn much that will help you in a real fight in taekwondo other than a few kicks…

  2. They don't just teach you kicks but also discipline. Also you do learn enough to help you in a real fight. Taekwondo kicks are powerful, so it's possibble to kill a person. Also imagine going up against 5 guys, surely submissions and holds won't get to all of them at the same time.

  3. Mma teaches discipline too, it also teaches much more powerful ways to strike and block and defend. Mma isnt just about ground game submissions? hence the "m.m.a" mixed martial arts there for they teach you kick boxing, wrestling, boxing, ground game. just kicks wont defend against 5 men..

  4. Their main focus is kicks. I know when i trained tkd they only taught me patterns and kicks, and ive only taken 2 kicks and actually used them in mma. What are you talking about man you're the one who started talking about 5 men ganging up on you? I just told you Tkd wouldn't help if 5 guys where after you? yeah but in mma they teach you everything straight up, you dont have to be a "higher level to learn how to grapple. Fighting with elbows and knees is a fighting style called muay thai not tkd

  5. I'm just saying, I learnt much more in 2 months in mma than I did during my entire experience of tkd. That's why my opinion is that mma is a much better fighting style than taekwondo.

  6. There is always those blue belt forms that are different from others, I spent hours looking for one and finally found it. Thanks for the help. πŸ™‚
