Justin Fields held a press conference after his youth football camp and talked about the following topics:
– Fields is excited and optimistic about the 2023 NFL Season. The Bears QB believes that Chicago has several leaders in place especially with new additions like DJ Moore, Tremaine Edmunds, TJ Edwards and D’Onta Foremen, which also raises the talent floor for the Bears roster.
– He feels “comfortable” heading into his 3rd season with the Bears and in his 2nd year in Luke Getsy’s offense. Fields says it’s “my offense” now and that it’s his job to make his teammates, especially the new guys, feel as comfortable as he does.
– Darnell Mooney injury update. Fields joked about Mooney bulking up and he also said he’s “ready to go” for Bears training camp. Mooney has been rehabbing an ankle injury this offseason but appears to be on track once camp starts on July 26th.

“I think there’s so many reasons. We have a bunch of [new] pieces on defense. The amount of leaders we have and the comradery with everyone on the team, I think is a big thing. The leaders we have like Tremaine and TJ coming from other teams. Of course DJ on offense, D’Onta at running back. We have a lot of new pieces and everybody is excited. It’s a very exciting time, just because of the new pieces we have on our team. The culture we put in place last year and all the guys, I think we’re all just trying to reach the same goal and that’s to win the Super Bowl.”
