Yet another promising young player coming through at Benfica, Antonio Silva is a player who is making himself known as a future defensive force in Europe. At the age of 19, Silva is a very dynamic all-action centre half. He joins a long list with the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix, Goncalo Ramos and Darwin Nunez who were all revolutionised at the Portuguese club as young ‘wonderkids’. Antonio Silva could look to follow in the footsteps of another former Benfica centre-back in Ruben Dias, who moved to Manchester in 2020.       I think mentioned before . Have a look or listen to the athletics Benicia academy. It explains how they can buy and replace players and also simple things like having satellite academy’s all over Portugal, so the kids can stay with their family. If only united could have that academy like that .plus it explains how the qatars getting the Portugal team is that amazing, as everyone goes through the big free then released to the other clubs like a draft system

      Nice one! Another guy I can recommend looking at is Lutsharel Geertruida of Feyenoord who is a RB/RCB. He's agreed to terms with RB Leipzig but he may only move there if Gvardiol goes to City, a deal in limbo at the moment. Check him out.

      There is no case for him. Ten hag wants aggressive man marker cause he sets the team to go man to man in most games. That’s why the profile we were looking for, kim min jae, disasi they are bullies like klopp or bayern cb profile strong aggressive and quick to complement lisandro. Varane isnt aggressive enough and nowhere near strong enough. Ten hag was trying to address that. Antonia silva is glorified marc bartra, he isnt what ten hag wants

      Great video until he said Portuguese clubs don't sell for high values. And then he said 40M?? No way he's going for less than 80M and that's a kind valuation. Rui Costa and Pedro Braz know what they're doing. Silva is a generational talent

      Why the fuck are we gonna spend 40 50 mill on another defender when we need more strikers. We have to solid units of center backs coming threw. We need goal scorers best form of defence is attack you should know this everythings there bar a one or 2 goal hunters we used to be a team that had 4 top strickers all we have is sick note tony fml

      Pace for a defender is key when playing on the halfway line but it isn't everything. If you read the game well enough, you don't have to be lightning. Thiago Silva and Laurent Blanc were two of the best CBs I've watched and neither were ever blessed with pace.

      There's a list of Italian defenders who are some of the best we've ever seen who weren't quick: Baresi, Maldini, Cannavaro, Nesta. Sure, they didn't play in the modern game but outpacing some with speed of thought hasn't changed.

      Hello Steve I’m a Benfica fan and there’s no way this guy goes for less than 80 mil
      Also I think that we should target him next year to replace Varane .
      He is really good and he is a better defender than Rúben Dias was at Benfica
      After Gvardiol he is the best defender prospect in Europe

      My takeaway from this video is that Ste was feeling generous on the day he was filming. Only 7/8 of Manchester is Red? Surely it’s a bit more than that! 🔴⚪️⚫️

      There's a reason clubs aroud Europe have stayed away from buying in Portugal if you haven't noticed. They are rinsing teams and there's no guarantee players will succeed. Darwin Nunez, Joa Felix both 100m. Porto yanked the realse clause from £30m £65m as soon as they heard united were interested. Sliva is a Great player but not worth the 100m Benfica will demand. Let's do some actual scouting and find some young talent with actual value.

      i'd rather us do deals with sporting we have a better relationship with them & they are more reasonably priced.

      Always comes down to price. If it takes £65m away from signing a striker than absolutely not, I’d far sooner give one of the youth lads a chance. If it’s £25-35m then yeh maybe but it’s still a gamble.

      I would prefer a centre back like Antonio Silva or Marc guehi or Fikayo tomori to replace Harry maguire because that’s the quality we need off the bench and I would take either of them.

      So, some corrections are in order. This lad is 1,87 cm (6ft2) and he was this week valued at 95million€, 3rd most valuable center back in the world. And somehow you put it's value at 45M £? let me tell you all this, no one is going to take this lad for less than 100million€.
      He didn't have any kind of "mental issue", when he went to Benfica for the first time, he got home sick, he was 12 years old; TWELVE; so Benfica let him be in his home town and town club for another year. After that, he's been nothing but excelent.
      He is a generational talent and if doesn't have any major injury in the coming years he will rise to be one of the best CB we have seen in decades.
