After getting the deals for Mount and Onana over the line, now it’s time for United to push on with even more improvements. Sofyan Amrabat is the name that is getting quoted on all angles at the moment. At a valuation of roughly 30 million euros, this could be the perfect deal to get done soon. At the age of 26, he is currently in or approaching towards his prime years. With Fred seemingly leaving the club, there is a hole being left in the squad that needs to be filled. We will be losing a player who made 56 appearances for United last season – a member of the squad that we would be stupid not to replace. With Amrabat, it could be argued that he would be an improvement on Fred, and his role in the squad would be a very valuable one. While it is likely that he would not start every week, there would be many ideal games for the player to feature in, similarly to how Fred worked in the side. Games at Anfield, the Etihad, Emirates and other tough places to go cry out for a player like Amrabat to step in and bring some stability. If Amrabat is signed, our trust and confidence in this team to get results out of the toughest games will improve. Are the rest of you guys not worried about losing both Onana and Amrabat to AFCON ?
I thought he would be last in but some of rumblings from Italy and Fred not travelling makes me think he may want him in sooner than later.
I wonder if he wants amrabat in to compete squad outside of striker early doors and then they will negotiate with Atlanta whilst keeping an eye on Kane situation. Also looking at Spurs defensively again today will they want Maguire? If so surely United say only if its involved in deal for Kane.
Worst case Rashford plays 9 first game or two and they try to bring in Kane or whoever towards end of window.
Such have been the vast improvements to the overall squad playing Rashford as first choice 9 with a stop gap striker coming in wouldn't be end of the world. United are so strong in wide areas.
Mount, Onana and Amrabat addresses many of squad issues. Get rid of McFred and use Mainoo. Midfield has almost a perfect mix and balance. Defensively I'm sure they want Maguire replacement bit Jonny Evans wouldn't be end of world as 4th choice.
Think ETH has been very clever so far. Clubs spending 100s of millions on players who may work whilst ETH is addressing squad weaknesses whilst getting the balance spot on.
Ofc ideally they should get Hojland on asap but I'm just saying don't be surprised if Rashford lines up as CF in first EPL game, maybe someone like Taremi in short term to take pressure off then trying for Kane or Hojland very late in window. Assuming they can't budge Atlanta soon.

We had a chance to sign Brozović for 15-20 million. He is a bit older but no one runs like him and has football inteligence like he does. He is older but he could play from the bench, with Casemiro, with Mount or alone. He was perfect player to have with Casemiro and Mainoo. Mainoo should be our priority and getting some one young would not benefit him. When he is ready Brozović or Casemiro could leave or will be old enough not to mind coming from bench. But ok it is done and Amrabat will do.
Improve the bench, improve the squad. Sign him.

After watching the game against Lyon I can't help but think Martinez could be a great backup to Casemiro. His willingness to run with the ball and press resistance makes me think he could do a good job as DM, but this would only work if we sign another competent CB.

I really like him for big away games, too often have we been passed off the pitch and outrun in midfield. Don't think he's world class or anything, but an excellent, versatile squad player

i would have loved to have amrabat and hojlund on the tour so everyone can be embedded in and start the season of strong. wouldnt mind seeing us go for todibo over disasi to if we can sell a few players. rashford clearly will be the striker this season which im fine with, gives garnacho and amad more opportunitys on the wing, mount to.
This is the 2nd most important signing after a Striker. Amrabat will be a Key signing and a great backup for Casemiro. Pls United should get it done ASAP

I think Amrabat will be one of our best signings. I really hope he comes to United to upgrade our midfield options.
I think his toughness, reliability, and mindset is warrior like and his comfort playing under pressure is underrated.
Playing him side by side with Casemiro versus top teams will cement our midfield and defense in tough games.
Giving Casemiro breaks during the season without dropping our performance makes this signing a must for United.
