Manchester City and England’s John Stones joins Ellis Platten at Classic Football Shirts in Manchester to look through the rails of some of the most iconic kits in football history. The former Everton and Barnsley defender picks out some of the best kits he has worn while singling out the jerseys that inspired him on his journey to the top. Stones weighs in on the Messi v Ronaldo debate and brings a rare match-worn shirt of his own to exchange for his favourite in the shop.

  1. Any reason why this is 9 minutes? Can tell you we’d much rather see a far more unedited version and one where you actually just let him talk and speak his mind as he’s looking through the shirts.

  2. Of course it had to be this idiot Ellis Platten and this stupid goal page that contribute to the Ronaldo hate and disrespect for those that feel different. Suck it morons

  3. John Stones is a fantastic defender who I feel is wrongly criticised sometimes for any mistakes he makes. It seems to be magnified more than any English defender?

The only thing I can put this down to is the expectation that was placed on him from early on his career. He was seen as the next Bobby Moore. Good in tackle and graceful on the ball, bringing out from the back and setting up attacks and there was no finer than Sir Bobby Moore.

All I can say is that John Stones seems a top fella and in my opinion, a top defender. For John to of remained as he did at Manchester City under Pep and an England regular, then that speaks for itself how good he is as a player.

    Good interview, enjoyed it.

  4. I always find the Messi v Ronaldo topic interesting on who people pick , but if you ask most pros that have played against both most pick Messi
