ESPN FC’s Gab Marcotti and Julien Laurens (The Gab & Juls show) are joined by ESPN’s Bundesliga commentator Derek Rae to look at the upcoming fixtures in Germany. Borussia Dortmund travel to Hertha Berlin with all eyes on 16-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko. A change to the Bundesliga rules now means any player over the age of 15 is eligible to play, therefore Moukoko could be in line for a start with Erling Haaland potentially set to miss the match after being away on international break with Norway. Laurens believes Moukoko could be a future star striker for Dortmund and Germany following an impressive start to his career at the club, where he has already broke goal scoring records for the U-19’s.

  1. Klose: 71 goals for his country is "nothing to write home about" – 16 goals at World Cups – winning four (!) world cup medals between 2002 and 2014.

    Moukoko and BVB:
    – Haaland can play against Hertha Berlin
    – He was playing for the Under 17 aged 12-14 (not scoring at U19 level aged 12)
    – Players hadn't to be 18 years old to play at the Bundesliga (e.g. Christian Pulisic could not have played for Dortmund at aged 17)

    Topic centre forwards:
We can talk about not having Center Forwards at the next two World Cups while having: Gnabry, Sané, Havertz, Wirtz, Werner, Adeyemi and Moukoko 🇩🇪

ESPN, you played yourself – In general I like your postings but please do some proper research for the next time.

  2. Klose is ethnicly german not polish. He is from silesia in poland. Silesia was german until ww2. People their (the ones who stayed in that region ) still are rooting for germany in the world cup as much if not more than poland )
But why did he even bring that up ?

  3. Gab really loves to hate Germany, Klose has the most goals in German history even if he is born in Poland he represented Germany. While Muller is more of a CAM or SS even then he is 10th in all time German goal scorers.

  4. Umm no they didn’t change the rule for him🤨 they already had the rule of 16 years of age…nuri sahin debuted at 16 years and 11 month…get your facts right. They didn’t change the rule this year🤦🏻‍♂️

  5. Broooo I never heard about him but I’m hype to see his debut I don’t even watch Bundasliga but I’m gonna watch and see what kinda player his is

  6. Pretty sure the old rule was that you had to be 16 and a half minimum to be eligible to play for the bundesliga. But you are right, they changed the rule to 16 so Moukoko could play.

  7. Gab is getting a bit childish with his Germany hate. I think its all for clicks and comments(so, yeah, it sadly worked) but come on, Sir.
You know your football: Klose is an all time great national team striker with a really good club career, Bierhoff scored the winning goal in the 96 euro final. Gomez was the leading CL scorer for Bayern over multiple years when they won a CL final and reached another one. there are other good ones like Kießling. show some respect Gab. I dont know ANY Italian national team players but I dont make a fuss about that.
