Awkward reunion for Taremi and Pulisic after the World Cup…
Starting with Maldini – it was important to incorporate someone of his stature at Milan in order to maintain historical integrity and provide much needed football intelligence beyond AI – but ultimately his micromanagement of the technical area amid a series of miscalculations e.g. letting go Donnarumma, Kessie and Çalhanoglu for free; spending 90% of the transfer budget last year to bring in CDK right at the transfer deadline; giving Pioli substandard product to work with (Vranckx, Dest, Adli) – cost him and Massara their jobs. I think we can all agree now that Milan’s decision-making in the technical area is much more streamlined with maximum input from Pioli and Moncada.
The Mercato – has been the most dynamic and determined one in some time. Regardless who’s the person on the other line, it’s Milan calling at the end of the day. That is to say, Milan is the reason why players decide to come here, as based on the club’s grandeur, befitting project and recent success. Suffice to say, I’m very happy with the business done so far but will wait until it’s done to cast final judgement.
Formation – started well last year with their attack-minded 4231, but following their come-from-behind tie with Roma in January, they went on to concede 16 goals in 5 games. To shore up defensive efforts, Pioli went on a brief 352 stint until Milan’s losses to Fiorentina and Udinese. They played their next 15 games in a modified 433, and went on to be undefeated in Serie A while reaching the semis in the UCL. The 433 provided a better press, more control of the centre and play including better passing options, and greater defensive guarantees by forcing opponents to play in wide areas. Be that as it may, I think Milan must be able to adapt to multiple formations depending on the occasion.
Players – who have been acquired have 7 things in common: direct, 1v1 proficiency, pace, very good use of both feet (not counting Romero), high work rate, can shoot on target and score, and versatility. I would argue that the most important role, especially in a 433, is going to be played by the trident in midfield. Luckily, all of Milan’s available midfielders are uniquely suited for a 3-man midfield, including Krunic and Pobega. Going forward, they need a pure defensive midfielder to complete the trident. I’m partial to Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna given his experience and knowledge of the league, but wouldn’t say “no” to young Musah as deputy to a healthy Bennacer.
Finally – much importance is being placed on the centre forward role. Arsenal must introduce me to their Optometrist so I can see the same thing they see in pricing Balogun at €60M. Taremi would be a solid addition given his production, experience and ability to be slotted in any formation – but ultimately I think Milan will opt for youth, speed and versatility, that is, someone who can play multiple forward positions e.g. Danjuma. If you ask me personally, Chukwueze would be the important acquisition they could possibly make.
Keep up the great work!
This mercato is very exciting.
I think we are making a bit much on the switch to 433. Both formations pretty similar when looking a Milan. Our trequarista isn't a the playmaker as much as a leader of the press. This means that while we can argue that we play a 4231, we really play like a 433, with the shape in the middle being inverted in order to mirror teams playing in a traditional 433 (which is why we played Bennacer on Lobotka in UCL).
This means that (no matter the initial positioning) we can expect Pulsic, Giroud, and Leao up front and leading the press will be our 3 in the middle. Call it what you want but I don't think this much of a change compared to last year.
Playing defensive players up top is actually pretty common with for example Kante 2 years ago playing in a more advanced position during phases off-the-ball. This is the reason why CDK was garbage. He has decent passing but his press is lousy and he is easily bullied off the ball.
I was worried but these signings show promise. will miss that milani passion that tonali brought, hopefully the new guys can develop some of that.
Milan playing straight up 4-3-3 without a playmaker give me nightmares! I remember Seedorf, Inzaghi, Mihajlovic, etc teams, they were all kind of awful, mostly wingers disconnected from the 3 midfielders in the back, and a lot of long passes, not a cohesive game plan, just nightmares!
Taremi won't have the same spaces in Italy that he had I. Portugal, if we had a young great Center forward, I would be ok with Taremi, but taking in consideration Giroud age, Taremi is going to play a lot, I hope he find his way in Serie A, and I think buying the right RW would have a lot to do with Taremis success
I’m a Usmnt fan first. I Follow all our boys all over. It’s good to find a channel covering Milan because on YouTube it’s hard to fine for me.
Nice ❤🖤signing
Taremi is 31 years old😢. We needed to go for a good youngster like folarin balogun who could be our striker for the decade. Now inter may grab him
Ll
what about Danjuma?
Respectfully I disagree on the Maldini case. Yes Maldini wanted the management to invest. The difference was that he wanted investments WITHOUT losing a key player of the squad. Redbird is just spending Tonali’s money, they haven’t been spending their own money, at least not yet.
Milan has had one of the busiest transfer windows in Europe. Hopefully this does not put Milan’s finances into a bad place down the road when it comes to paying them in the years to come.
That’s what happened in the 2010’s
So things are going well which is nice to see, Taremi would be a good option up front, positive sign they are after a striker…I think a small concern is how all the new signings gel together, because obviously that takes time, and maybe it's just a concern because of how that would 200mil window ended up, but I've got belief the squad can do it. I guess the club's finances aren't in ruins this time😂
If we plan to play 4-3-3, then pulisic is a waste. Cuz he can't play right.
I believe CDK will do well in the RW.
I would prefer a player in his early 20s
Love your Channel kush. Want to ask you Your opinion on boulaye dia Do you think he would be a good contribution to our front line as our main striker. Also I read a few things about the non EU spots Are we only allowed to sign two this transfer Period or can we sell one of our non e u players on our squad to open up another non e u spot ???
Musah is so good, and he is only getting better.
Leao could play as striker i think
Dude we haven't even spent all 70m of Sandro's sale, let alone tapped into the reported 50m budget. Our original budget could have been 100m+ as well and stayed within FFP compliance. Gerry's just cheap af and has debt to Elliott
Balogun is no risk-it no biscuit…. Napoli went for oshiemen after one half decent season in France and look how that worked out.
Taremi is a GOAT 🐐!!!! I reeeeaaaalllyyyyyy don't understand people nagging about his age 30 ( couple of days ago turn 31), when he is the #1 TOP SCORER OF THE PORTUGUESE LEAGUE!! & year after year he did better & better with 31 goals & 14 assist in 22_23 & 2 against England in WC & …??? Are you really worried & concerned??? 😂 Manchester united & inter & … want him ! No matter where he goas he'll shine & be their best player & in not just sayig, numbers don't lie! People are willing to pay 50,60 & 100 for players just because they are couple of years younger & some with 9 goal & … come on !! If he didn't have to jump through hoops with their stupid government to get to Europe, you were looking at a +$100k player & bragging & begging?? Get real guys !
I hope he accepts AC MILAN term but if not , again, he'll be shining as always, no matter where he goes !! Viva Taremi & more power to him !! 🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤💪💪💪🤴🤴🤴💪💪💪❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉!!!
taremi doesn't worth €3m. give a guy half and he's still happy.
only quality is Musah and Taremi and none of them are in Milan… the rest are rotation players, we need more quality players. Your full of shit of cardinale is full of shit / Forza milan
Taremi is the best signing for milan
