I can appreciate how great busquets is because he is what Michael Carrick was to Manchester United (my team) – we’re one of the worst teams in Europe right now, but at our best in this century, Michael Carrick was the very heart of the engine room, screening the defence and initiating the build up play, always having a clear picture of how the game was progressing around him
Busquets is literally the same if not more with a little bit of Spanish flare and the penchant to do some trickery here and there, equally as imperative to his team
These type of midfielders are extremely rare but their value to their teams cannot be understated, they are indispensable and once they retire, you realise how much of a void they leave behind. I hope one day we can find a true carrick replacement and Barca fans should definitely hope they can find a busquets one once he leaves.
