The Cubs literally melted down after this
I'm not a baseball fans but in the game you have 9 innings to outscore your opponent. Afterall the player makes many mistake and they need to blame on someone. They also need 10 years to win 1 championship and if they not win anything in 20 years they will still blame Steve Bartman.
A lot of peoples tried to catch the ball. so, he became the target just because he was the one who "unfortunately" get the ball.

Alou wasnt going to catch that ball ,but he made such a scene over it he convinced the world he was

It's not the fans fualt the cubs still ended up losing the games cuasing them to lose the world series and plus if the fielder cuaght that it would only mean an out you guys need to think these days not the fans fualt.
