The Pros and cons of selling Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Pro League AKA HENDERSON AND FABINHO TO SAUDI COULD BE A GAME CHANGER FOR LIVERPOOL TRANSFER PLAN. It’s been a day of absolute madness as Liverpool are subject to bids from Al-Ettifaq for Jordan Henderson and Al-Ittihad for Fabinho. Some from the hip thoughts on the pros and cons of selling two hugely experienced players, including of course, the club captain. Could losing them damage the squad, or could the transfer fees give Liverpool more options to buy better in the market this summer?

  1. I've been a Red's supporter since 1965. I NEVER thought I would ever be ashamed of any of our players, let alone legendary captains. I am not a member of the LGBTQI+ community but, human rights are very important to me…….enough said.

  2. Personally watching certain games last season I made my peace with Hendo, Milner, Fabinho, Keita & Chamberlain leaving the club. The quality wasn't there anymore & it was plain for all to see. Even the player's themselves must've realised that being a permanent starter at the club wasn't gonna be cut & dry. Getting decent money for both player's is a serious result & Klopp should grab this opportunity immediately.

  3. Im still in the camp of moving TAA into a midfield role. Let Henderson and Fab go and replace them with a decent right back and another midfielder to supplement TAA. We were a shit ton better towards the back end of the season once Trent took up more of a roaming midfield role.
I’d like to see Ward Prowse given a look although my only concern there would be if he could offer enough quality to the midfield in addition to what we’d be left with.

  4. Only way I'd be happy with them leaving, is if we improve the squad. Like Kimmich and Barella. But still, too many transfers cause too much disruption to the squad

  5. Hendo needs to stay. He needs to help the new players bed in. We need his leadership for 1 more season and he deserves a good send off from the anfield crowd at the end of next season if he is to go

  6. We shouldnt sell both. Too much turnover in one summer for my liking. I still think we need a lcb desperately and losing this two would mean we need at least 2-3 mids.

  7. I don't understand the 10 million fee at all. Why would Liverpool sell him so cheap. Replacing him would cost upwards of 50 mil. If they can quadruple wages surely they can pay more.

  8. Business is business. Thanks Suarez, thanks Coutinho, thanks Mane, thanks Henderson. All legends but even legends get sold eventually to bring in the next generation. 🤞

  9. If Henderson goes we need a big replacement. We need TWO big money buys if Henderson goes, and that’s just Hendo. If both Henderson and Fabinho go then we need a massive transfer plan and sign big players for big money.

So we need to splash the cash

  10. If, this deal for Henderson also financially benefits Liverpool, then do it.

Before this offer even came in it was looking likely he’ll have left the club next year anyway, and with his high wages and only one year left on his contract we’ll have struggled to sell him.

Out with the old, in with the new

  11. Well, the team has to move on and build leadership from within soon enough, even if not this year. I personally wouldn't want to lose Hendo this year, on top of Milner. But the big question is will we invest in 3 more midfielders after losing Fabinho and Hendo? I really doubt it. We've already lost Milner, Ox, Keita, Carvalho and Arthur. Add Hendo and Fab to that, and it's potentially 7 midfielders. This is ridiculous. An overhaul was needed because FSG/leadership didn't invest in midfield. This is not Football Manager or FIFA.

  12. Henderson and Fabinho possibly going, has got me excited, not because I dont like those players, but because it will force the club to have to sign players that will actually improve the squad for the long term.

  13. i think letting fabinho go is a mistake, when hes in form hes possibly the best defensive midfielder in the world

  14. palhinha genuinely is the perfect footballer to get in now, he's in his prime, it'd give our midfield a good balance of age and when you look at his skillset and the problems we had last season, a destroyer like him would help our back line immensely. there's more assurances with palhinha, lavia would be gamble. tchouameni seems unrealistic, caciedo though? who knows wages will be a problem

  15. I see the departure of Henderson and Fabinho will cause any problems for the team. In fact, The was needed some fresh blood, not to mention both of the players form was below average last season. So, that been said, I am optimistic this new season with the new additions, will bring some excitement. We still have lads who can take the charge to be the captain. Van Dike, Alison, Robertson, Mo.

  16. There's no cons it's all pros, you're moving two aging and declining players for £50 M and getting read of their high wages, Liverpool should be grateful for others stupidity.

  17. We’re Truly rebuilding if we lose Hendo & Fabinho.
    * Usually agree with you lads but you talkin crazy now. Hendo is the keeper of the culture of Liverpool football. We’d be Ajax letting Milner, Hendo, Fabinho, Firmino go. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

  18. Losing Firmino, Milner, Henderson and Fabinho in one window is a huge risk and feels too risky. Replacements aren't known quantities in your squad and when they come from foreign leagues there's always the chance they won't adapt. Evolve, don't throw out the baby.

  19. Would be like Souness getting rid of the team of the 80s… At least MacCallister and Sobo aren’t Hutchinson, Marsh and Tanner… 🤷🏼‍♂️

  20. Liverpool be absolutely crazy to not let Henderson and Fabinho leave, especially to get decent money. After letting Firminho, Ox, Keity, Milner leave for free. They are both about 3 games away from needing a wheelchair, pointless to keep them both just for "the dressing room".

  21. Hendo leaving will be a monumental lost for Liverpool. Liverpool will lose a critical leader. Hendo has been the heart and soul of the club especially in Klopp era.

  22. We could survive without Hendo, but if Fab goes, and we dont get a top drawer replacement, I dont see us making the UCL. He's still massively important for us

  23. Firstly, for me the wrong people are going, Thiago and Matip are coming to the last year of their contracts. We either extend or bin them, and I would be for binding them. It is just a more sensible way to run the club. Having said that, if we get top dollar for these two and that would be £20-30 Million for Hendo and £50-60 Million for Fab, then that opens other opportunities. If we could go on and get £30 Million for a combined Matip and Thiago, that would be perfect.
I would then like to go for the likes of Tchouameni, Valverde or Caseido and Colwill. If you got a Tchouameni you could add Lavia as an addition as potential. I know this is fantasy thinking, but these sales could offer us that opportunity.
The main thing is not to give away these stars, because I would more than happily keep Hendo and Fab.
Finally isn’t it best the Hendo goes and campaigns for LGB rights in Saudi, LGB people have all the rights in the world in the UK, what rights are they missing? If he could have any affect in Saudi would that just be his greatest achievement.

  24. If you can bring Aurélien Tchouaméni, then sell Hendo & Fab, if not, keep at least Fab. Lavia is not enough to replace him. Hendo is home grown and club captain, that's another thing to replace… Ideally would have been Matip and Thiago (never fit) out – Lavia and Colwill in.

  25. What Liverpool taking dirty oil money from human rights law breakers this can’t be right, oh wait it’s different now😂 hypocrites

  26. Don't blame Henderson for going to Saudi for that kind of money as I would take and so would everyone else and everyone can say "what about the morality issue's" and I say to that 700k makes those feelings go away very quickly and I do reiterate no one would turn that down and anyone who said they would are lying period

  27. For me, it depends on how much money they're offering. If we're talking £40m+ for Fab and £25m+ for Hendo, then I say go for it. I also wouldn't mind selling Thiago (fitness and no guaranteed position in the new system). I'm not convinced that there would be a leadership vacuum. Van Dijk steps up to captain and Trent becomes vice captain.
Go out and buy Caicedo, Alex Scott and Manu Kone. That gives us Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Caicedo, Kone, Jones, Elliot and Scott as the midfield options. I'm happy with that.
