  1. The other way to look at it is that he is improving so much BECAUSE he went to Arsenal. Between the higher levels of coaching and competition it has made him better. He had the potential and it’s now showing. He was never even decent with his feet but you can see a marked improvement (still only good, let’s be honest). I think he stays this year, gets some cup games, and moves next summer.

I think another year at Arsenal learning under Arteta will do him some good. Before he joined Arsenal he was TERRIBLE with his feet, now he's improved considerably and it's shown in games. At the very least I expect he'll get some cup games (EFL Cup, FA Cup) throughout the season. After the season ends he could see if a Mid or Low table Prem side would want him, only if he would want constant game time. Otherwise, he'd most likely stay at Arsenal even longer.

  3. FINALLY, you pessimistic a-hole, lol! MATT TURNER has EARNED a chance to start for a top side somewhere! I'd love it to be Arsenal, but they seem to be happy with Ramsdale so, let the chips fall where they may. I know Tottenham and Hugo Lloris aren't feeling great these days….

Secondly, Brendan Aaronson made the smartest move of his career moving to Union Berlin! He'll get Champions League experience, even if it's short-lived, and he'll deepen his international prowess of the game.

  4. Arsenal also offered life changing money which is hard to turn down. I get the game time arguments but ignoring the money side of the sport is half of it.

  5. its sort of the life of a goalkeeper, too. there is only 1 per team, and its rare for a team to switch goalkeepers often for league play.

  6. He will definitely get game time considering Arsenal is in the CL now , and rotation for FA Cup, some starts in the league and of course in case of injury he’ll be good to go.

  7. Arsenal have done a great job of addressing their keeper situation in the last 5 or so years.
From a relative weakness, they're consistently having at least a starter and backup who could start for several PL teams.
That should be the standard for all Big 6 teams, but it's often not the case.

  8. Shaka doesn't understand a guy playing in the MLS would want to join Arsenal as a backup? Are you serious? I feel like it's self explanatory why Turner joined Arsenal. It's the best club he could have hoped to join with an opportunity to get better and learn from some of the best in the world.

  9. I would say this irregardless if he was at Arsenal or not but Ramsdale is so grossly overrated as most all Arsenal players get because of the YT Arsenal content that gets shoved down people’s throats all the time.

The thing with Turner’s decision as well is Arsenal aren’t that prestigious club anymore. Sure they still have many fans but around the world and amongst the top players, there are many other clubs in England that have surpassed Arsenal.

On Aaronson, I’m glad he’s not at Leeds as their fans while they are very passionate and support their club, they are brutal towards Americans and are just ready to pounce at any first glimpse where they would give other players the benefit of the doubt.

On Union Berlin my only concern is they have so many young guys that could Aaronson quickly be cast aside early and just rot on the bench?

  10. I like the way hate against arsenal has been a norm to this pundits, that means that arsenal is doing exemplary job

  11. Reminds of emi Martinez both had to go through trials and tribulations and both played at Arsenal where they struggled 😂
