Both the management and the supporters did De Gea wrong on the way they treated him, the supporters basically telling him to go as he did not fit Ten Hag’s style which in my opinion is more a reflection of the rigidness of Ten Hags playing style and capability. Instead of teaming it to fit in De Gea he choose to get rid of him. I hope that one day this will come back

Shaka is spot on about doing the proper and professional goodbye's "backstage". Bruno's message is to honor him in his own way. It would have been a nice romantic farewell, which he deserved, though nobody knew if he was staying or leaving… both parties may be to blame for that.

Nothing wrong with letting him go for someone else when contract is up and going for someone better. The problem was ETH saying he wanted him there next season, and United doing stuff like taking back contract offers after he agreed to them and then offering lower offers (on the same week the dude gets married no less).
You don't want him, say you don't want him from the beginning so he has more time to find a club. Don't string him along. Whatever his form or performances at the end of last season, he deserved more respect than the way United management handled it.
