    It’s confirmed – Enzo Fernández is a Chelsea player! But is the €121 million purchase from Benfica worth it?

    Today we’re doing a deep-dive into the strengths and weaknesses of the Argentinian midfielder. He made big waves at the World Cup, winning the tournament and picking up the best young player award.

    But what does Enzo bring to the table offensively and defensively? Could he become one of the best midfielders in the world? And how will can Chelsea get the best out of him?

      Lots of names thrown around but give a year or two and if given the chance after getting a work permit(since he is having a great Conmebol u20) I can see Andrey Santos being a great double pivot alongside him

      O how they miss Kante! Chelsea need a defensive midfielder to compliment him to get the best out him; if only they had pulled off that last minute Amrabat deal or maybe tried again for Edson Alvarez

      Enzo career path so far:

      -Played as a solo holding midfielder in DyJ: won the Copa Sudamericana (Europa league equivalent, but winning it with a Getafe type team)

      -CM with DyJ: won the Recopa Sudamericana vs Palmeiras (equivalent of beating Liverpool <when they were good> in the European Supercup)

      -Number 8 for River (Argentina league title breaking personal records for goals and assists)

      -CM for Benfica (won him a €120 million transfer, besides leaving Benfica at the lead in Portugal and CL)

      -Solo holding midfielder with Argentina: World Cup winner and Golden Boy.

      The kid is just a winner anywhere on the pitch.

      great video but I still think he'll be under serious pressure in the pl. he won't have the time. he must make the time. plus he has no partner at Chelsea since Kanye is never fit. I believe Chelsea threw away class in Jorginho and he will show it at arsenal. we can only wait to see

      Anyone who comes to the prem for the first time can flop. 50/50 for me. Remember. He wasn’t even a starter for Argentina. He only played because Lo Celso was injured

      Crazy. You know another thing that's crazy? It's when Youtubers pretend as if these ridiculous transfers could work out., And when they don't, act as if they always believed that the transfer was never going to succeed.

      Premier League proven world class striker Fernando Torres flopped at Chelsea from just up the road….. Chelsea are like a primary school jumble sale. Nothing is calculated

      I believe Enzo will be given an 8 role at Chelsea. His main role will be to find Mudryk and Madueke at the wings with Reece and Chilwell alongside. The problem will be to partner him with a dedicated 6. Kante would've been perfect. I feel like he'll create a good link-up with Felix, finding him occassionally to let Felix create the openings.

      I'm sorry but the amount of shots i've seen him take with club and country are low volume but high in accuracy.. u rarely seem him miss the goal it's either hitting posts, keeper gets it or its in goal. This is an eye test.

      Incredibly overrated player.

      He is young and may improve, but he is nowhere near worth that type of money.

      Prior to the WC he was relatively unkknown. He might be that player who was a decent WC and gets bought for far too much money only to flop.

      They literally could have got someone like bellingham in the summer for that type of money.

      His debut was amazing. He only had ONE training session with Chelsea and it looked like he played there for ages. But his weaknesses were evident in the second half. Like you said, he was kind of alone, he needs someone else to back him up defensively so he can really get the ball moving in offense. Do you agree on this?

      Watching this before the Dortmund game today. This is all spot on. My question is why dumbass Potter hasn't tried Enzo and Mount in the midfield. We will see the game today but I have not been happy with Potter's lineups/decision making. I know I might be asking a lot but I'd be curious to hear your take on Graham Potter. Obviously I'm not in the dressing room and don't know what happens behind the scenes, but his decision making has been lacking any kind of focus. The team doesn't look united to put the ball in the net. They honestly need a little bit of the "nothing matters, just get the damn ball inside the net" mentality in the box.
