Re a few nit-picky comments…
I am aware Trossard has good numbers on ball recoveries.
A ball recovery, as defined by Opta, is: “This is where a player recovers the ball in a situation where neither team has possession or where the ball has been played directly to him by an opponent, thus securing possession for their team.”
Ball recovery is PART of pressing, as is PPDA, structure, intensity, positioning, technique etc etc
If you listen to what I said, I said I’m concerned about his off the ball intensity and authority. I didn’t say he can’t press.
I also said I could be wrong, but that’s my initial impression from the eye test, that he drifts slightly in game.

Reminds me of Brian Marwood. He wasn’t a marquee signing but he was experienced winger tidy and never lost the ball. He was the final piece of the jigsaw for George Graham and won us many points in the year we won the league at Anfield
