I'm happy for the kid and his goals here, but this only solidifies him as 4th in the rotation at striker for me after Balogun, Pepi, and Sargeant. He's still young and is improving and probably best as a 10 at the end of the day, but breaking your way into the USMNT midfield is no picnic either.
Really hope he takes that next step and move to Europe to prove himself.
His position is like a 9 and a half 😂😂 not a 9 but not a 10 either. Something like 9.5 😂
Ferreira is a Caribbean Pirate. Great at scoring against small Caribbean islands ( St. Kitts total population is 48,000). Too bad he is trash against everyone else
Now Bergholter is back we will never see a roster without Long, Ferreira and Roldan on it….
Wow, back to back hat tricks!! This guy is smooth a silk! Can't wait to see him being set up by CP and how he plays against a top notch defense!
As a fanbase, we have to stop overrating performances against very poor competition. He did well, and happy for him.
Ferrira is not a magically different player deserving to start in the A team for it.
I don’t understand why it is so hard for some to understand. First of all their is no hatred of Ferreira, second it has little to do with Berhalter, third it has everything to do with the fact that he has not scored against stronger opposition. Funny all these pundits talk him up but would they choose him over Balogun or Pepi. Nope. Should he go to Europe?YES. Will our opinion of him change if he goes to the top 8 league? YES. Until then don’t bring up how wonderful he is. He is a great MLS player and that’s it,
Letsssss go USNT is going to be sick next World Cup we winning thre gold
It's frustrating watching him – he eats these micronations for breakfast but then we see him against real teams like netherlands where he's got two left feet. He NEEDS to get on a european team that regularly faces real competition, he hasn't reached his full potential but if he keeps rotting away in MLS we're never gonna see it. I pray that something happens to change this man because he's so close to being a good prospect but he's just not at that level yet
Happy for Ferreira but Balogun, Pepi, and Seargent are easily our top 3👍🏼
Bro he’s only 22?!?!
Ready for Europe… hmm i think Europe is way more difficult than Trinidad and Tobago.. but great comparison once again guys!! At least say this is just a confidence tournament for him!! And a catapult to Europe!! Don’t say hes ready because he gets a training sesh out of a Mickey Mouse tournament. But hey i guess you play Trinidad every weekend in Europe. ..
Vaquez starts in those games he would likely score a hat trick , these opponents are so weak let's be real , when he does it top competition… let see how he does vs Mexico, Canada or Jamaica?
This 'hatred' narrative needs to stop. No one hates the guy as a person. I'm happy for the guy, but we need to see him play like this against higher level competition. We've been saying this the entire time. He's still young and can make that leap at some point, but up until now he hasn't been that guy. Maybe this'll be a turning point for him though.
Herc is closer than most media covering the team (as always) but still slightly wrong…I can only speak for myself but it's less about blind hatred of Berhalter's pick and more a critique of the illogical nature of the choice. As Herc says repeatedly: I don't think Jesus is a 9. That's it.
I don't care who he scored most of his goals on and I love MLS so I don't care that he's plying his trade for FCD. Gregg called him up and started him over Pefok and Pepi at times when it made no sense to me. Our striker pool was never bad enough to play Ferreira out of position in must win WCQs and in Qatar after Sargent went down. Weah would've been the more natural choice in a pinch but, really neither Tim nor Jesus should've been used that way when Pepi was available and in decent form.
This Gold Cup is proving to me that Ferreira definitely deserves more looks with the A team as a sub or depth for our attackers but, barring catastrophic injuries to Balogun and Pepi, I'm completely uninterested in seeing him start as our 9. I actually need to watch more FC Dallas games to see how he's used there
People might think I'm crazy but I'd even like to see him play 10 or just behind the striker at MNT level and I believe he has the speed of thought and skill to interchange with Reyna even though they obviously have different strengths. Ferreira does such a great job of playing in tight spaces and against a low block…it would be fun to see him freed of goal scoring responsibilities so he could link play with Pulisic, Balogun, Pepi and other guys up top
The Pirate of the Caribbean isn't a bad nickname against Ferrera. He is attacking the opponent's he is currently playing against and it is great. Yes it would be good to see what he can show in the next higher level.
Hercules said it best and I've known this since the WC. Ferreira hate comes from GGG choosing him over whatever player fans prefer. GGG syndrome is real.
Herc defending jesus ferriera is why US in general sucks at football in terms of skills . Ferreira is not good when facing elite teams. Herc always defends ferriera and acts as if we're attacking him maybe we are but rightfully so again herc defends ferriera because they are both failed and boring hispanic players
Se empachan con los "minnows."
Im just glad these goals boost Jesus "Captain Jack" Ferreria confidence
There's no such thing as A, B, or C team when it comes to playing for your country. They should give it their all and every fan that lives, feeds their families, and is educated here in the States should be behind them as they represent everyone of us – all colors and creeds. Watch during the anthem as black, white, and brown players stand with arms locked.
If they aren't the best players in the pool, who cares? We aren't always the best. Winning as an underdog is what being American is all about.
These US guys are 5 and 6th string players at best save for Turner. I think Jesus is making a name for himself to make the bench behind Balogun and Pepi. That still makes him a third string player.
I read that this team has latino players, old MLS guys, A, B, C, D squad, Liga MX guys, young MLS guys, and teenagers, etc – I'm rooting for all of them even if they aren't the #1 squad.
This is why games against teams like these are bad. You don't get anything of value for team USA out of it it's just for the money. Ferreira is not at the caliber of the first team, he had a chance to prove it and failed at the world cup.
It was against lower competition. He can't do it against the better countries. He should only come off the bench. But now Greg is going to be all over his nuts again for these hatbtricks 🤦♂️
All of a sudden the copa oro is a joke weak tournament 🤔 if you can’t clean house in this tournament than yall don’t belong on the pitch — put some respect this is concacaf rack up trophies and then critic props for backtoback hattricks 🇺🇸 🤙🏽
I didn’t like Ferreira before..now I respect him
