  1. So Asal is allowed to cheat his way to the finals, and cheat his way to victory. Apart from the fact that Asal has tried to injure his opponents many times, it saddens me to see so many of crowd supporting him. If I were Egyptian I would hide my face much shame. No one will remember gentlemen like Ashour and Hesham and Farag, we will only now think of the biggest whiny baby on tour, Asal.

  2. I have been in Squash, as a player and a coach, for more than two decades and have never seen such disgusting and unfair behaviour. A disgrace for our sport.

  3. Asap is a disgrace to the sport. Simple as that. Can have all the talent but what’s the point of having ability if you have no integrity. No idea how he looks himself in the mirror with any honour.

  4. This is how it is when a sport (like squash in Egypt) become popular : young players imitate soccer players. But, be patient, other young players prefer MMA, that's why, in the future, matches against Asal will become and more interesting. 😀

  5. Watching Asal play is so difficult no sportsmanship in his game or regard for his opponent. He needs to be disqualified. The crowd was so rude to the players screaming mid rally, the referees need to keep them under control.

  6. Asal ruining professional squash…. hate watching his style of 'play' and antics, he's better suited to rugby. Disgusting, wont be watching another game with him playing.

  7. Terrible sportsmanship and a complete embarrassment to the sport. The growth of the sport will stop if this behavior continues. Plus kids watch ASAL and assume this is the correct way to behave on the court. PSA needs to halt this ASAP or NO ONE will watch squash. And massive respect for Elias…to have such a high-level of sportsmanship in the face of physical harassment/holding/blocking/etc makes him the true winner in all of this.

  8. Squash federation has to setup/ update rules of the game. Greats of the game both in skill and calmness, Jehangeer and Jangsher, may be consulted in this regard.

  9. I cant watch squash like this, its unbearable. Stop and go stop and go… over and over. Catch me in qualifiers & early rounds where the actual game is being played.

  10. Decided I don't actually like either player anymore. It's very unwatchable and very un-sportsmanship like. It's not good for the game – Only two players on the tour I don't like watching anymore.

  11. Dear god this was horrible. Was watching the whole match on Squash TV, stopped halfway during the last game as i couldn't handle Asal's cheating anymore. Won't be back for any of his games for sure…..

  12. Ha ha, what a joke @squashtv. That actually looked like they played squash… Which obviously they didn't!! Stop brushing over it and show it for what actually happened. A travesty…. Worst final ever!!!

  13. Shameful conduct from Asal, as always. Shame on the PSA for not doing anything to correct this! Not even with video evidence showing Asal intentionally grabbing the black falcon's racquet, during their match. Constant obstructions and cheating practices. Gentleman's game? With Asal in it, I don't think so.

  14. Our team follows squash for a while now, and we have always admired the sportsmanship and respect between players. It's one of the things that drew us to this sport. However, we've noticed a change in demeanor from Mostafa Asal in his recent matches that we find troubling.

Asal is undeniably a talented player with immense potential. His skill and athleticism are an asset to the sport. But, part of being a sportsman is respecting your opponents, the officials, and the spirit of the game. Unfortunately, in his recent matches, it seems that Asal has let his competitiveness cloud his judgment leading to some unacceptable behaviors on court.

There have been instances of excessive celebration, obstructing the opponent's path, and some level of unsportsmanlike conduct that isn't in line with the values we admire in squash. It's vital for players to remember that while winning is important, how you win matters too.

Mostafa has the potential to be one of the greats in squash, and it would be fantastic to see him channel his passion in a more constructive way. A little more grace and sportsmanship can go a long way in endearing a player to fans around the world.
