  1. This Onana could be a nightmare! As if its not stressful enough watching United….. be careful what you wish for! Id still prefer my goalkeeper to be good keeper rather than a wannabe midfielder.

  2. I don’t think he’s good enough to reach the top. I think his max would reach something like Tottenham. I don’t think he’s a top, top pedigree. He’s good, but I don’t see him as a top 5 goalkeeper in the world anytime soon… and I think, that’s something that have been recognizable for Man United… granted there’s been some transition phase, and experiments like a Lindegaard and Barthez… but in the end, the goalkeeper we wound up settling on, stay there for quite a while and is a top, top goalkeeper.

  3. Shameful in how we treT our non British players like DDG while We keep limited players like Scott, Henderson, and Hayy Maguire still stay at United.

  4. It's disgusting watching people like you talk shit about DDG. The man has saved us from possible relegation. How about calling out Rashford for not turning up for 2 years, Martial etc

  5. City upgraded when needed, Liverpool upgraded, argument says Arsenal have upgraded. I want De Gea to have a proper good send off with a testimonial game which he truly deserves. Let’s make it happen. I hope United don’t fuck up even more than they already have when it comes to signing players. Few more days and there is going to be a lot more activity going in the window and others are already strengthening whilst United are actually getting weaker (losing players and not replacing).

  6. Surprised to see so many Utd fans displeased with the manner of his contractual negotiations. They wanted ETH to be decisive. So, ETH is decisive and now we've got displeasure with some that DDG is heading for the door.

  7. Is it fair the way he's been treated?

    Abso-fucking-lutely.

He's been massively overpaid for years and the club offered him a new deal. He sat on it, his performances got even worse so the club offered him am even worse one. Take it or leave it Dave, you're probably still being handsomely paid for a player with your limitations.

  8. De Gea's time is up, his first few years were good but the game has changed. We also shouldn't feel too bad, he wanted that move to Madrid after all. If it wasn't for Cortouis I feel he would have probably eventually moved there.

  9. We won't be finding an upgrade on de Gea any time soon, deservingly so, considering how bad club treated de Gea when moving him on and how everyone is blinded by prioritizing the fad of playing from the back over shot stopping, there is not a better shot stopper avilable in the market right now, and with how stupidly everyone is running after this fad, it will take time to find a quality shot stopper who can also play from the back.

  10. If we gave him an offer, he accepted it and then we rescinded it then it is a disgrace and is a completely unacceptable way to treat a loyal servant of the club. It just goes to show how poorly ran we are. Either make an offer or don't. Disgusting behaviour.

Don't have a massove issue with us replacing De Gea. His distribution has cost us at times this season. I do not think Onana is the right man to replace him with, though. He gets away with his eccentricity in the Serie A because it is a slow league. If he does that in the prem then he will be found out and will be punished for it.

  11. It is what it is. Great servant for the club but this is best for the club. The club can’t be too sentimental. De Gea is no longer a 150k a week player. So whatever we offered him, it would have been north of that. Thank you David, I’m certain everyone hopes the very best for you ahead.

  12. It’s time to move on, ngl. We need to act id we wanna compete. De Gea was great, but is ‘t anymore. Look at the transformation Liverpool and Coty had when they got a way better keeper.

  13. Despite what you think of De Gea; offering him a contract then retracting it is just classless and disrespectful of someone who has been at the club 10 years.

  14. My third favourite United keeper ever after VDS and PS but he needs to go now. We need to move forward. Fergie was ruthless and got rid of players on a regular; it’s part of the game. The second goal in the FA cup final was DDG’s error

  15. De Gea is still one of the best shot stoppers out there. He’ll be a success in any team that doesn’t require him to help build attacks from the back.

Same with Maguire. He will be a success in any team that defends deeper, and doesn’t require him to build attacks from the back.

Just not top level players anymore, since the new optimal standard amongst all top teams is to build attacks from the back. Still will be great for any team that’s not top tier.

  16. we have a very limited transfer budget and if we buy Mount and Onana we are skint and unless Onana can score goals we are screwed we need a striker

  17. I would of gone for Mendy from Chelsea but he’s off to Saudi disgusting the way they have treated de gea 12 year’s service carried United on his back half of that should of been dealt with better

  18. So that’s £40 mill, we need two midfielders and a striker, can not go into this season with just Casemiro that can play 6, Caceido would cover the midfield being able to play 8 as well.

I seriously wonder if we are stuck will we get a cheap striker/loan, some sort of cheap deal and throw Greenwood in because otherwise it’s Rashford down the middle for a lot of games.

I don’t think fans realise how skint we are, reports today we still owe £300 mill in transfers from previous seasons,

And if we get a new keeper, you need a very good backup, a better one than DDG would need because a new keeper in the Orem can take time to settle.

  19. I'll always be eternally grateful to De Gea. He was definitely the greatest player in Europe football for MANY years but unfortunately you can't ignore the mistakes anymore

  20. What’s going on with our club is what happens every year. It takes us an eternity to make any decisions at all. We’re ALWAYS 10 STEPS BEHIND! It’s fucking shocking.

  21. Treat players badly, other players will take note. In contrast look at how Liverpool make a song and dance about players who have been identified early as leaving the club, presented on the pitch for the fans to send off. Costs nothing to treat players in this way and when it comes down to choosing between clubs to sign for, these small things could make a difference
