      American soccer is unlike any other sport in America: They lack ambition to be great. They are happy to play Mexico 10 times a year and collect money. They'll get a favorable draw and be on home soil and still likely do what most other coaches have done: eek out of the groups with just one win and bow out in the next round. And on home soil regardless of coach i'd expect more. Loser mentality for US soccer since 1990.

      Any players, including Pulisic, who have publicly expressed support for Berhalter’s return, are unaccountable players who fear a new manager who will hold them accountable. This is a red flag & these players who do support Berhalter should not be a part of this national team.

      This current generation, allegedly the best of all time for the US, is fool’s gold.

      US Soccer Federation is a disgrace. The MLS spends god knows how much money to bring Messi to the US which does nothing to improve the national team. Imagine if they would have hired Marcelo Bielsa as US mens coach, that would have changed the history of US Soccer and brought to it's max potential. I highly doubt Uruguay could pay Bielsa more then the US. It's obvious to see that even though MLS has been around for almost 20 years, the people behind the scenes don't know ish about futbol.

      This shiii makes me not want to watch any usmnt he has been given so much more talent than any coach but has produced much less. We win despite him not because of him🤮

      They told the players weeks ago that Berhalter was coming back. So players had to sound happy or they get the Reyna treatment.
      They had press conference scheduled. So the story published by Athletic was intentional during the game.
      Further nepotism of the US federation

      This is what the US Soccer Federation is. We are content being a middling soccer "power" simply because soccer isn't a "big deal" in this country. This move will get NO PLAY outside of the die-hard soccer community, in this country. In Europe!? This would be KILLED in every sports media outlet available! Unfortunately, it is what it is. Sigh. Another round of 16 defeat because we lack the imagination and creativity that a LEGIT soccer coach would bring to this team of talented youngsters. Get ready for Reyna not playing and Balogun being a sub. LMAO! As a fan of US soccer, it makes you want to bang your head into a wall…

      Agreed with Herc. GGG can't take us the furthest. Maybe we make the Quarters at best.
      It also doesn't feel legit. It feels like more USSF BS!

      Berhalter took the most talented US team in years and maybe in history and made them mediocre. He won a lot of games. He won a couple tournaments. Big deal. The US just thrashed Mexico without Berhalter involved. This team has played significantly better under Hudson and BJ than they ever did as a team under Berhalter. Most of the problem was player selection, player positioning, and rigid structure demanded by Berhalter. The two interim coaches made great player selections and played them in the right position. The team looked significantly more dangerous and fluid than any team under Berhalter.

      I'm not the biggest fan of Gregg n I love Gio as a player but if u are not going to renew him it should bcuz of footballing reasons not bcuz of a cry baby player n his mom

      How do you bring back a guy after the whole domestic violence, family squabble, nepotism bs he just created? Not even to mention his tactical ineptness, inability to change or impact a game from a managerial position, constant favoritism of players.. I mean it’s not that long ago Roldan was in camp.. and LLetget.. I’m so tired of this mates rates, fan boys, we all watch each others backs bullshxt

      Herc, this whole thing was just a disgusting sham. Look at how they kept putting out there Marsh and then Vieira, literally up to the day before. And then to put the Gregg news out as the game begins while everyones attention are focused. Just a sneaky underhanded bit of theater. Crocker and, Berhalter and the rest are unacceptable. But heck what do we expect from a group of habitual liars.

      Thats what happens when your federation prioritize a less competitive and prestigious womens team. Hyping up a team that isnt good . Instead of going for the oldest and most prestigious and the better world cup the real one is the mens. If your men didn't win the world cup you havent won it.(womens world cup for eveyone around the world is not relevant)theyre too lazy and incompetent to try and compete with mens team around thr world like brazil or argentina or france that are levels above US womens 4 overrated time world cup team . Im sorry for my fellow americans you have such a foolish federation that prioritizes nonsense. Its why soccer will never be a top sport over there in US its a privalleged rich sport for most unlike here in my country its a sport for eveyone and played by everyone. Much love from germany

      Not a huge fan of Berenhalter, although I think the team has definitely progressed with him. The question is how much further they can progress with him. He definitely seemed to play favorites. For those excited by how well the team played against Mexico under B.J. VS. how well they played Berenhalter, just remember that Berenhalter almost never had Pulisic, Weah, Musah, Mckinnie, and Reyna on the field at the same time.

      Just look at him!! Come on!! Our new president is from england right??? Maybe hes doing this on purpose..idk??? Berhalter can NOT teach these players!!! They are light years away from him!!! I really think he puts his feelings ahead of the team n country!! Matt Crocker needs to go n i will not watch them again til berhalter is gone. He lied to the fans n his players n if i was Reyna i wouldnt play for him!!! Hes the best player n proved that this weekend n pulisic isnt it anymore!!!

      It's not that Berhalter should have not gotten it because of Reyna's parents. But It's the decisions in Qatar. From the handling of Reyna before and after, to head-scratching tactical choices vs. Wales & the Netherlands which exposed his naivety and limitations given the significantly better side he had at his disposal vs. past managers. What was more embarrassing vs. the Netherlands wasn't just the score, it was how badly out managed and how tactically ripped apart Berhalter was. Also… it was Berhalter that decided to skip more dynamic options like Pepi or Pefok (at the time). It was Berhalter that torpedoed the Reyna relationship before the cup and THEN went with a worse player vs. Wales when they needed a win, instead of the better option (Reyna). AND THEN he fibbed about it!

      Berhalter is just a symptom of the bigger disease which is the USSF. CPC has been nothing short of a disaster for the men's program.

      What USNMT accomplished in the past 4 years is in spite of Berhalter and not because of him. His player selection, rigid game strategy, playing people out of position, and favoring poor MLS players all suck. his re-selection is criminal.
