Worst performance since Cyprus. Never been so disappointed watching am ireland game. 😮😢
Kenny should go now had his chances two matches and it’s over
Where’s all the Kenny fanboys now???😂 The guy is a clown, it’s been a catastrophe from day 1 and has deteriorated into a farce! If you’re still Kenny in give your head a wobble because you should be in a padded room!
O Dowda isn’t a left back or wing back defensively sweet Jesus, it’s absolutely crazy to be starting him there instead of Manning. We can’t keep backing a manager who is showing incompetence game after game, easy show up against France but these games are our best and butter and continually look outclassed by teams that should be on the same level as us. Tsimikas isn’t a great defender or strong and we never really tested him. Get Chris Hughton in and give him a chance he’s got much stronger pedigree then Kenny will ever have now. Subs were crazy.
You really think the Irish players match the Greek side?
That exactly is the problem, you don't really know the Greek team and there was a general feeling that this is a game that one way or another, Ireland should win, if you take the players from each side one on one, the Greeks are on a whole different level of experience. Factor in that Greece has a domestic league with traditionally strong teams while Ireland has never had and this should paint the picture.
People who are saying sack kenny. Who do we bring in ? Guardiola , klopp would struggle to do anything with this squad we don’t have enough players playing at the highest level simple as. I personally thought the 3 at the back killed us last night their full backs was the out ball all night.
Kenny doesn't need this job. He is obviously tactically unable to understand each game on it's own. It's not that the players don't try, it's how they are told to play regardless of the opposition. Against Greece they were away! When you are away you don't concede and play you must be realistic and savvy not to play to philosophy your players can't bring to the game, play to each player's strengths and change it if it needs changing. Kenny is all at sea but it's not his arena to be in, he's out of his depth. He's done his best. He's just not fit for the job of international football and that's the problem. I don't want to slag him, he's a good man but it's not what you want from a manager of the Irish football team and no matter how good Ferguson is you can't be trumpeting him as the saviour of the Irish strike force when he is used to the point where he hardly gets the ball. The players are lost, doing their best but clueless tactically and that's down to the manager.
Kenny was done tactically tonight, that is his fault. It was obvious we needed to change the system after 10 minutes and he waited til half time.
I was at the game last night we need to go back to what we know best – route one up to Ferguson – we don’t have the players to play nice football
Mickey Johnstone is no Pat Nevin.
Pointless sacking Kenny now, anyone taking over would be in just as much trouble with this squad. Kenny got everything wrong last night tactics, players etc. This should be Kenny's last contract and the board should take time now to target a new coach/manager.
Desperate times.
Not a great time to be a fan of the boys in green 😔
It’s like bamby on ice, that sort of football wouldn’t even be excepted in the championship. It was mad at first to bring in a manager who had never managed in a professional league like the premier league the championship or in any other top level league in Europe. Like when we had Martin O’Neill and Mick McCarthy, they had years of professional level experience in management. Kenny hasn’t. I know some of the players aren’t exactly good enough but when we were under Mick, there was belief stored in the team and we looked like a real outfit. Under Kenny, failure to qualify for World Cup after 2 games and same for euros after two games. Where do we here?
He can introduce all the young players he wants, unless they are playing regular club football at a high level they won’t evolve and progress. The English league is the richest and most cosmopolitan league in the world now. It’s difficult for English players to break through, never mind Irish players. Brexit has just made it even more difficult for Irish youngsters to move there. The FAI need to come up with an alternative plan to develop our players, instead of just relying on English clubs to pick our best talent. We should be looking to foster better links with other European countries where our players actually have a chance to get first team football.
It look like our boys were playing with a ballon. Why did we look so uncomfortable in possession. Never felt so frustrated as of last night, completely shambolic performance. After two games it looks over for us. We have the greatest supporters but unfortunately our team is so inconsistent.
No League of Ireland coach or Republic born coach has ever got Ireland to a major championship finals, That is the brutal truth. Kenny will NOT break that particular hoodoo.
He's failed in the Euro 2020 Play offs, He failed in the 2020 and 2022 Nations League Qualifiers He's failed in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers and now he's failing again in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
If he were a good coach by now Ireland would be hot favourites to Qualify automatically in the Top 2 in this group, However after 4 full years in charge Ireland are in rag order and descending downhill rapidly to a nightmare 5th seed for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to start in March 2025.
It's high time for the FAI to pull the plug on Kenny's disastrous, dire, calamitous, terrible, awful, appalling, dreadful, ruinous, horrible ill fated, and shambolic time as Ireland coach.
It truly is beyond belief how bad Kenny has been as manager with just 4 wins in 23 competitive matches, Horrendous defeats to Luxembourg, Armenia, Wales, Greece and Finland and awful draw against Portugal, Serbia, and Bulgaria twice, plus that inept near defeat at home to Azerbaijan.
Appointing Kenny as manager was the Biggest mistake in the FAI's 100 years history.
It's now time to correct that gigantic error by discharging Kenny IMMEDIATELY.
Ireland are in the mud , playing gutter football, Stephen Kenny is a lost cause for Ireland and it is time for the FAI to move on with a bright new coach with fresh ideas.
We can now forget all about Euro 2024 after just 2 qualifiers.
We are a 4th rate team in the group and don't rule out the ultimate humiliation of Ireland losing to Gibraltar .
Face facts this is the poorest Irish coach in the 100 years plus of Ireland football history.
Kenny Out NOW !!!!!!!!!
Get a proper coach and manager in because its only going to get much worse
Time for people to get real. The Golden Era for this Irish team was 1988 to 2002. Mini revival of sorts, 2008-2016. But we are now finally seeing YEARS of mismanagement overall from the FAI. It's come home to roost.
At this stage now…..in that squad…..how many of em play TOP level football, week in – week out?
Maybe….2, in Coleman (injured) and Ferguson (he's 18). We don't have the top level talent.
We're where we should be in the World Rankings. 50th is what we deserve. I don't understand what people expect, or want. The good days are a long long long way away. Simple as.
Nobody from our defence, or midfield plays for a Top 4 team, in a top division – ANWHERE. Stop coddin' yourselves.
This complete delusion – why the blind allegiance to Kenny? Being ‘one of our own’ is worthless when he is KILLING the national men’s team. Support for Kenny is criminal at this point.
