A fun segment to closely analyse one great beam routine from each competitor.
Shawn Johnson is the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist on Beam. Simone Biles is the 2012 Olympic All Around Champion.
Each competitor will be closely matched in style and skill. It’s up to YOU to decide who’s queen of this apparatus.

Both girls are amazing but Simone when she comes off the beam she don't fall forward like the other girl I thought this little girl was going to hit her face on the edge of the beam but hey they both are Queen's to me I've never seen anyone else do what these two girls can do ever in history can't break their records at all go girls you deserve every blessing GOD gives you keep on keeping on

I think the balance beam would be more fun to watch if it were higher – maybe like 12 feet off the ground.

An age difference needs to be considered. Shawn for her age and skills surpassed biles!!

Better to compare the beams they perform the best. Simone's ending with sticking the dismount is really satisfying to watch and gives a great lasting impression. Is there any video of Shawn doing this routine wherr she sticks the landing?

Both but simone nailed it 100 percent, Shawn 99 percent.
They are both queens. When Shawn Johnson retired from competition, I thought I would never see a gymnast who could equal her on beam. She was by far my all time favorite gymnast on the beam.
Then along came Simone Biles, and she absolutely blew me away, not just on beam but on every apparatus.
These two will forever be my favorites, but I am 100% certain that I will never see a gymnast who is the equal of Simone Biles. She is more than just the GOAT. She is the greatest that ever was, or will be. A hundred years from now, gymnasts will still be compared to her and found wanting.

Shawn's style was to avoid any extraneous movements to show off her perfection. I think that's why I appreciate it equally to Simone's pyrotechnics, even though the things Simone can do are obviously superior. Shawn's style afforded her very little room for error, and that's what is so impressive about it.
