  1. I was expecting way better since half the starting XI isn’t even going to the gold cup Herdman got it wrong from the start Buchanan and Vitoria should’ve started and we were exposed from set pieces without Vitoria Atiba not coming on at all hurt too unless he didn’t want to cuz of his injury

  2. Losing sucks. I want to see this team win the Gold Cup now… Winning… Winning is all that matters… We need a Bobby Clarke on this team…

  3. Chin up guys (USMNT fan here). That was a tough game for us, perhaps more so than it looked to you. Good luck in the Gold Cup, hope we meet again in the final.

  4. One lesson learned is that Canada has to start it's best players vs strong competition. Vitoria & Buchanan should have started, as Canada needed to get off on the right foot vs top teams.
Also, the U.S. has taller players & for set pieces that matrers when they go for headers. Vitoria would have made a difference on those set pieces..
Johnston looks way too short to defend on those set pieces. It was the same with the Belgium goal in the World cup.
Kennedy played well out wide versus Panama; but looked lost in the middle versus the U.S…

I thought that Ismael Kone was the only bright spot on the pitch for Canada. He played very well!

Basically I was disappointed in Herdman in this one. I have proudly said that he adjusts well during games; but he did not in this game; but even more disappointing were his post game comments, when he said a few times that our Canadian players gave it their all. No, they surely didn't at all & I usually see Herdman as an open minded honest coach; but he was trying to be a player's coach & in this case, he should have called them out for not fully showing up for this important match.

  5. If Herdman wants Wotherspoon to prove himself, he should start and get lots of minutes at the Gold Cup. If he bench warms, I have no idea why he's there? Same for Ugbo – he should be there starting and trying to find his groove. I can't figure out Herdman at times…

  6. Listen up lads, ultimately, John Herdman laid it straight… He doesn't believe Canada Soccer is "serious" about winning… They need to shhow the CMNT "the money" so we can focus on winning…

  7. As a USMNT fan, I was happy to see Buchanan start on the bench. We were able to have Aaronson man-mark Davis, and there wasn't much of a threat on the opposite wing.

  8. I don't think this game was nearly as bad as some made it out to be. We had some good bright spots early. The early US goal changed the complexion of the game. We had a few chances early on too, and if one of those goes in it's an entirely different game. However as in the World Cup, we've seen the margins at this level are paper thin. Our back line also seems to be broken too easily on through balls, on the ground or in the air.

Sometimes I think Herdman gets a bit too smart for his own good. In a final your best players need to be on the pitch. Buchanon's fierce competitiveness is tailor made for a final against the USA. Kennedy looks a tier below the rest of the players out there at this level. I also think Davies tries to do too much himself in these kinds of games. If he let the game come to him a little bit more, I think he'd get in a better rhythm. But he's still so young so theres lot to improve there.

All in all though, it was a well-contested match…I didn't see it live and after hearing all of the commentary, I assumed we were slaughtered and toyed with (like Mexico), but we weren't. It was a tight affair, and the US showed us a lot of respect in their preparation. Another good lesson 💪

  9. More of a 7/10 than a 9/10. Should’ve given Ugbo a chance to shine with both David and Larin not wanting to be there.

  10. Kone should be in the squad. He was one of the players who looked decent last game and he needs time to shine. Gold cup would've been the perfect opportunity.

  11. I think Mexico 🇲🇽 is winning the gold cup. Jamaica has the strongest squad but it’s Jamaica 🇯🇲 they always throw. Canada 🇨🇦 and the US 🇺🇸 have a good shot but Mexico has most their A roster

  12. Loosing much respect for Herdman, this team always plays better in a 4 4 2 formation..And Herdman saying they gave it their all was spitting in all our faces…I watched the game with my father on father's day and my dad who isn't a big soccer fan even said after the game that Canada players didn't even show up for the game. So as a coach don't say the boys gave it their all when it was very evident they weren't in this

  13. canada SUCKS,,they cant even win Stanley cup…. US womans team would have beaten the canadian team that played the final LMAO

  14. KJ going on about Herdman not being able to get the best out of Davies should worry all CANMNT fans. Especially in the manner he described. Herdman juggling Davies around in different positions in a final indicates he doesn’t have a true vision where Davies is most effective. And to have that kind of issue with the only CONCACAF player to ever make fifa’s world XI, that should be priority number 1. Anything less is unacceptable
