Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Riccardo Marchizza from Sassuolo, according to Turkish outlet Spor Undibi.
The left-back has just returned to his current club after a season spent out on loan with Empoli.
During his time in Serie A, he made 22 appearances during 2021/22, featuring as a left-back.
Marchizza has played for several clubs in Italy. He lists Roma, Spezia, Crotone, Empoli and Sassuolo as his former clubs.
Forest have been on the lookout for a new left-back, with Steve Cooper keen to ensure his squad is well-stocked.
Marchizza is deemed surplus to requirements with Sassuolo and he could move on this summer.
The Reds have added Omar Richards to their ranks with Harry Toffolo set to be announced very soon.
That would leave the club with two pretty decent wing-back options for the left-hand side.
It would perhaps seem odd to be signing another one with the squad already boasting two.
Jack Colback can also play in the position too and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him this season.
Marchizza has nine caps for the Italy under-21 outfit and rose through the youth ranks with the national team.
