10 years ago, John Stones was being hailed as a player with the talent to go to the very top of the game. 4 years ago people were writing him off, saying he didn't have the mental ability to fulfil his potential.
Over the last 2 or 3 years, we've seen him evolve into one of the best central defenders in the world, and last night, Stones not only demonstrated the fulfilment of the potential we thought he had all those years ago, but he actually surpassed it. This was without doubt one of the best performances by any player in a Champions League final.
