It has been clear as day that Mason Mount has been identified as the number one midfield target but the gap in valuations between the clubs has been a stumbling block with United having their initial £40m with Chelsea rejected with Boehly requesting nearly double that – with one year left on his deal and the player being keen on the move their is no leverage on Chelsea’s side and I believe United shouldn’t bend too much in terms of the price they are willing to go to in negotiations especially when there are some seriously talented alternatives in the market & here’s 3 of them…

All 3 would be needed but what an upgrade and future. Caicedo as the big signing/1st team and the others rotating. Gutted Chelsea look to be snapping Caicedo up
I think this summer we could move to enzo and hojuland. And next summer we can get both mount and kane for free

We don't want Chelsea Reject Mount & West Ham StarBoy Rice cos they're overrated & overpriced & they're not Man Utd type so they aren't coming to our Club only Enzo Fernandez or Moisés Caicedo.

Caqueret looks like the perfect Eriksen replacement to me. Statistically they're quite similar in terms of creativity and passing, but defensively he's excellent too.

I like the idea of targeting two of the cheaper options to come in and provide competition/rest/youth to an aging midfield. I know Erickson is great, but he looked really really slow towards the back end of the season, if we could cut his usage by 20+ games that'd be huge. Having a bench option that isn't Fred or Scott would also be amazing.
Caeicedo off to Chelsea and kim off to bayern. This is gonna be a horrendous window. How chelsea can fund this lot ill never know.

As soon as these clubs see Manchester United coming, they're adding 20-30 millions dollars more.
We need to hold at 40 and go to 45 end of June. Chelsea need to make the sale by end of June for it to count in the same year they have spent 600m for FFP purposes. Just need to sit tight and do whay steve has done and look at other options

I find it hard to compare Premier League and Ligue 1 and how well a player from Ligue 1 will do in the Premier League.
But if I was just to compare Mount with Caqueret directly without trying to consider the leagues, then Caqueret clearly looks like a better player and option for United than Mount.
If we were to sign him and he plays as well for us in the Premier League, he is for sure a much better signing for us than Mount.
I have seen way to little of Enzo le Fee to say anything about him other than that from the little I have seen of him compared to Caqueret, then Caqueret looks like a better player for us.
Caicedo is an amazing player and is the midfielder I want us to sign over any other midfielder.
I rather United pay 90M for him than United paying 50M for Mount.
I also prefer Caicedo over Rice.

Mount isnt a 40mil pound player. He never has been. He's literally just a guy. You can get someone twice as good for half the price. If Utd actually carried out some scouting for once, that would become clear immediately. If we want Mount, then set the price at 30mil, walk away and wait for Chelsea to come calling.
Last season we are not in the champion's league, noone wants to sign for United. This season, Chelsea not in Europe, all of the sudden, to play in champion's league is not a priority, and Chelsea manage to sign big player now, WHY???????
