I think this says more about Matip than anyone. If we buy Pavard, I expect Ibou to be playing center of the three and Virgil playing left of the three. Then interchanging Virgil and Robbo as we rotate/cover for injuries.

New LFC defenders are not top of the list surely? Questions about availability etc. will be asked as a matter of course. LFC knew last summer their shortfall was defensive midfield hence Aurélien Tchouaméni interest. Manchester United with a less able defence & attack are in the UCL. If Casemiro had joined LFC. They would be in UCL. The finances did not work for that to happen. Mac Allister does not fix defence. He won the World Cup with 2 DM's behind him. WHO? Besides the costly Rice, Caceido or Tchouaméni?

If klopp insists on playing trent in the hybrid role than klopp is commited to having another failiure of a season. The sentimental bias needs to stop. Trent can not play in any capacity defense. His defense is as good as salah. I would never ask salah to play inverted rb. Trent can play in midfield. Any sort of deep lying role trent cannot do. He is a championship division level defender. I would rather have the bournemouth right back defending than trent. I would rather have the luton town right back defending than trent. He either cuts it in midfield or he goes to the brnch or liverpool never wins shit again.
Pavard would be an excellent signing and personally would love to see him at right back. He even could play the hybrid right back role as well. A class defender.

Pavard playing R.B allows Trent to move to Mid field and saves a load of dosh on one of the mids we need.
Pavard just makes sense. he can play for trent if he will be moved to the mid or just to give him rest, then he will be a very good cover for cd if he will not make it his spot he is that good. been a fan of his for a long time.

Matip Gomez, Williams and Philips need to go. We need 2 CBs for replacement and perhaps promote 1 or 2 from the academy
How about Konatè in the middle, VVD on the left and Pavard on the right?
As we know, it is a long season – Robbo will get game time when VVD slots into the centre and Konatè moves to the right.

The second worst transfer news I have heard is that Klopp is keen on Cheisa! The guy had a horrible ACL injury and since he been back he has been worst than a shadow of his former self hence why his present club are only looking for 38m EUROS! Now he got this injury playing in the soft Italian league how on earth is he going to cope in the Premier league? Sorry its got Naby & Thiago & Melo availability written all over it.
Agree fully re: Trent. The change was out of necessity. Hopefully once the midfield is sorted, we can go back to trusting him to be able to defend out wide 1 v 1

Who's to say the system doesn't remain and trent moves into midfield with Pavard taking on Trents hybrid role?

Do we get the best out of trent or ourselves when he's playing the hybrid role? Or is it coincidence?
The role was used once we had players back from injury and we were able to be generally better and consistent in our team selection.
I think we get ourselves stuck in the mud a bit sometimes, like tge constant talk of Nunez and Jota playing off the left.
Paverd is absolutely wank
if Pavard comes in and covers RB and CB i think he will still play 20 games with all 4 comps next season
Also Pavard could be backing himself to break into the 1st team from the off.
