Big up Hugh! No player is bigger than the club. It's a shame to lose a player of that quality in our squad but Pep had to do what's best for the rest of the squad. We will be just fine.

Well said Hugh. Cancelo is a great going forward and puts on some anwzung crosses but he can't defend for π©, which is troubling considering he's supposed to be a left back. Time will tell whether we sign someone tomorrow

I don't care about Cancelo leaving. If he is a problem, get him out. However, if we don't bring in reinforcements, it will mean we have deliberately weakened our team while our direct competitors have all strengthened i some way shape or form.Β
We have 5 "experienced" players who are fit – Walker, Dias, Ake, Akanji, Laporte – a great inexperienced player – Lewis – and Gomez who just isn't up to playing competitive 1st team football. What happens if Ake gets injured? Gomez to take over? If any of Walker, Dias or Laporte gets re-injured then what? 5 fit experienced players for 4 positions, in 3 competitions over the next 4-months seem extremely risky given our ambitions of trying to retain the PL and competing for the FA Cup and CL.
He was absolutely brilliant before the World Cup break, idk bout him having a stinker. The whole defense has looked inconsistent this year and thatβs due to having a rotational CB pairing, I wouldnβt single out Cancelo
