its very rare any players come into man city and gets into the 1st team. EG: grealish, mahrez, rodri, cancelo, etc; just a testament on how hard it is to play the city way
I’m not convinced watching him play for us, he’s had some performances with the England squad but so far he hasn’t looked right.
I trust Pep and his staff to make the right call though…

They should sell him but they won’t because of the optics. If they let him go after 1 year that won’t look good for potential future signings

The obvious deal is to swap Phillips for Rice and give West Ham 60 million. Not to play Rice as a holding midfielder but to play him in Gundogan s role. Rice is a monster and has the talent to play further forward which I don't think Phillips has.

Philips is a decent jobber for most Premier league teams but looks out of place at city.Seems an honest lad but that isn't good enough for a team wanting big prizes.

Phillips can adapt like everyone else has. The problem is in my opinion that he's slow and can't keep up if the opposition gets counter attacks which is how most teams play against us .
