Joel Klatt discussed his takeaways from the Sugar Bowl. Alabama had some high expectations going into the season that they did not meet. They had been favored to win the National Championship since preseason, but failed to make it to the playoffs. Klatt believes that this win will motivate the team to come back stronger. He discusses that Kansas State is an overachieving team that didn’t have the tools to beat Alabama.

Will Alabama reach the National Championship next season?
All season Alabama has lacked the kill instinct, completely absent of any physicality at the los. Defense seemed out of position almost every play vs. Texas. Losing leverage off the edge. Big runs up the. middle. But that second 1/2 of the Sugar Bowl was old vintage Alabama, brutal hitting. Making the QB limp off the field.
I know a lot of teams wish they could have won 11 games in a down year.
The winner of the SECC every year will probably end up winning the natty, and it will most likely be UGA and AL playing each other for it. Maybe an occasional hiccup every five years or so like this year.

Bama will be good yet I don’t see them being great until they get some of dogs on defense. Bama has had HISTORICALLY great defense and its all started with ICONIC Defenses. Kirby has taken the Bama Way to Georgia and the only deference is Kirby’s DEFENSE!
Of course bama will make it. The SEC won't let them not be in it. Look at how their office officiated the TCU and Michigan game.

Bill O'Brien was the toughest opponent Bama faced all year.

I'm not the biggest Bill Obrien fan because I'm a Texans fan but he's not the blame. Bama had one of the best offenses in the nation. Defense was horrible.

The expansion of the playoff teams is the only way they get back in. This is what happens when you focus only on one guy. A 5 star quarterback,can't make a 3 star be a five star. This has to come from personal desire and drive. Alabama will be in, but they won't win it all.
The polar opposite of in-depth analysis. Simply stating the obvious, as always. Complete and utter watse of any fans time.
I noticed a huge difference in this team after all of those guys either enter the transfer portal or opt out. In my opinion there were a lot of "energy vampires" on this team, especially on the O like and at wide receiver. The vast number of transfers were at those 2 position groups. I also don't believe in coincidences.

And you have to remember everybody plays Alabama like it’s their national championship game. Tennessee had to beat Alabama in 16 years. Georgia hadn’t won a championship in 40 years LSU won. They finally beat us in white 10 Years so there you go the dynasty is far from over.
