      Great to have the Seleccionador at TalkSport. He does seem like a lovely fella. At first I was not super impressed with the appointment as many other Portuguese people were, and especially being an Everton fan there was even more skepticism however I am willing to give this man a chance. I believe we will play a more expansive style of football now which is the bare minimum requirement with this team. We have a Man City level squad when it comes to depth and talent, and ironically 3 man City boys in there, so we need a manager that is able to tap into that mindset because with Santos we were playing too defensive and not really going for it in games which isn’t acceptable because with the team we have we should be competing to win World Cups and Euros. Not to say we will win each time however getting constant last 16 finishes isn’t really acceptable with the level of the playing squad so I am willing to give Martinez a chance. I hope he is a success with us! 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

      Good to see someone giving Ronaldo the respect he deserves this country is a joke. Im glad he moved on from here, just like im made up Bellingham is well aware of what our media does to people and he will stay well away from it.

      Please pray for us (portuguese national team). Martinez at the wheel….and this is going to be a loooong ride. We are going to win some games, scoring some goals….there will be some goodish performances….but let's be reall……there aren't really tough matches in a calendar for a national team, outside of the actual tournaments.

      We'll get to the quarters finals maximum. And that's it. But if our football federation had any brains, they wouldn't have appointed him in the first place. Besides, he is going to insist on Ronaldo. We are ruining our best generation since forever.

      This dude is the biggest fraud in football. Got Wigan relegated, ruined the greatest generation of talent Belgium has ever had and now ready to destroy Portugal as well, and when he does, he’d probably still be given the France or Italy job

      Martinez will regret calling up CR7,he had the chance to cut ties he chose to be cool and include him. It will be fine playing qualifiers, against the likes of Me, Georgia, Albania till they meet European giants where he must make that difficult decision where CR7 will throw his toys off the cot. Portugal and Argentina have exceptional players and talent yet they get dragged and wasted focusing on two individuals with egos. They have had their time I enjoyed both of them but i can't wait to see Portugal post CR7
