Brett and Derek evaluate all the performances in the US v El Salvador game during the latest World Cup Qualifying match in Columbus. Did the weather make a difference? Was playing a false 9 the right way to go? Where was Pepi? What’s wrong with Pulisic?

Thanks for your point about immigrants. As an immigrant from Germany living in LA, I say fuck it, play Mexico in the Rose Bowl, take the pay day, win, and win over the kids.
1. Alex Roldan’s shot; 2. Zimmerman’s back pass; 3. The dude did a header near the end.
Do you ever think Christian roldon keeps getting called up because Greggg accidentally texts him instead of Pulisic inviting him and doesn’t want it to be awkward and uninvite him?
6 degrees on Wednesday. Can’t wait 🥶
Damn! You guys (Brett Corbit and Mr. Derek Richey) are workhorses. You release a video almost every single day if not every single day. Very much appreciate the videos you release in regard to the USMNT. Getting a crack out of Mr. Derek Richey's obvious crush on Meg Swanick. A cute gal. Should have her as a guest on the show to get her input on the American soccer landscape.
Best,
Rogelio
I got into the usmnt from watching El Salvador vs usmnt. With my friends from el Salvador watching the 2010 wqc. Then I started following the usmnt since. Plus el Salvador fans know they are going to lose. But the usmnt can get more fans in front of these "immigrant crowds" . pointless comment gotta help your algorithm
You guys have moved up to my second favorite soccer show. Funny, insightful entertaining. Looking forward to USA/ Canada Sunday….
Ava.,kwk
Simple
You guys are right, I'm second generation Mexican American and was brought to us soccer by another who started to be a fan due to the rivalry with Mexico from our Mexican family and friends. Great show guys.
Pulisic keeps going central. He does not stay out on the left. That is a big problem. I heard GGG saying he wants Pulisic in front of goal because that is where he is most dangerous.
Ferrera, on that 2nd chance if he uses his left leg instead of his right. That is a goal.
I'm not a GGG fan but I agree with him. You can't have these games in California, new York or some cities cause it legit feels like an away game. And im Hispanic, anyone who doesn't see that is posturing.
Zimmerman made five or six nice lire breaking passes early on in the first 30 minutes. The midfielders and forwards squandered most of them, so it may not have registered. Watch it again.

Positive comment BTW
Derek…let's have you mom on as a guest!
A couple minutes in, and not to be a pain, bit if you are from El Salvador or from Salvadoran decent. You are Salvadoran or Salvadorian. Not El Salvadoran…in English…yes all 3 are excepted ish…But its like saying "the American "
A couple minutes in, and not to be a pain, bit if you are from El Salvador or from Salvadoran decent. You are Salvadoran….I think
If you can't notice….I'm just blabbering for co.ment accumulation
This is Zimmerman's last attempt at a World Cup and he has been playing like it. 2 Years ago I was like meh when I watched him play but since then Outside of Goalkeeper he really has been the most consistent player on the USMNT.
I love that Gregg has completely bludgeoned us all into just accepting that zardes is the backup for this team
What's up with that photo of McKennie? Lol. He looks very chunky. Not '05-'06 Ronaldo chunky, but still pretty chunky.
Hard to disagree with the grades (under the rules of Derek's system). But I feel that it sorta gives grade inflation. Derek, I realize in your house a C was *bad*, but it's right in the middle of the scale.
If I were making a 5-point system (not that anyone's asking), it would be A = outstanding; B = very good; C = servicable/solid; D = needs improvement; F = failure. As I said, though, no one was asking. But, hey, these comboxes are filled with people making comments that no one was asking about.
I don’t think ggg is going to improve as a coach. Not only does he not claim blame for a poor performance, I don’t think he sees himself ever being the cause. The press refuses to pressure him to consider deficiencies, and US Soccer holds him up as the best coach we’ve ever had due to the summer of love.
Chris Richards B is beyond headscratching. 1st half he looked beyond shaky and frankly scared. Every touch worried me and Every pass was meekly sent to Jedi. I thought he was going to cost us. 2nd half he was ok but also didn't really do anything well.
And lots of people are underrating Musah performance massively. He wasn't super influential due to Antonee getting forward and Pulisic playing too centrally, but he was again strong, made a few impressive runs, had an amazing switching ball to Dest on the should be Jesus goal, and his passing stats were INSANELY great.
This match was such a dud. It’s like having to take a big crap and all you do is fart. Happy we won, but that wasn’t fun. Very frustrating
I guess it didn’t hurt us to play in cooler temperatures in anticipation for the game in Canada.

Back in 2001 I went to a WC qualifier at Arrowhead stadium in KC against Costa Rica. The fans were probably at least 80% for Costa Rica. There must have been more Costa Ricans than in Costa Rica at the time. I think it has become much better 20 years since.
To be fair, the Salvadoran, who went to the sideline to take off his termos, is half Finish and grew up in the Netherlands.
1st gen Mexican American here

Your mom also is right.
I'm really not understanding the internet consensus about this game. We had a generally dominate performance, with an expected goals roughly 3-0 off of 17 shots. Of course, your mom is right, expected goals don't mean anything, but it does suggest that the general plan was working and the problem was simply finishing – 5 of 17 shots on target, six shots were blocked, and ES had 4 saves. This team has struggled with finishing, and most of this season this team has struggled with finishing for their club. McKinnie had a recent bit of good form, but I mean it's not like that suggests consistency.
Normally I'd have some slight differences with you guys (but still my fav USMNT channel🎉). Today I only have one. This has to do with Richards. I think, especially with Brooks being sniped from a mile away out of our team, Richards should be encouraged for that dribble. Why? Brooks brought a more technical side to our center back pairing. Technicality isn't just being able to play a long ball nice. I'm thinking more like Laurent Ciman from Montreal Impact a few years ago. He was almost like a deep lying CM in attack. He's young enough to polish his dribble skills and when to dribble. I'm not talking GODdinho (Ronaldinho) here. Just kinda impressive for a center back ala Ciman. Practice that long ball and then be more manly in the air he'd be great. For the game I thought the iffy moments came from him trying to oddball stuff. Which to me was okay because while Zimmerman isn't elite, he is like the trashman that gets your trash and leave nothing behind every Tuesday. Plus he's playing for what? A 3rd/4th place Bundesliga team? He'll be fine.
Pepi starting I assume
