Billy Beane is a genius
Then lost in the first round to the Minnesota Twins. You can buy runs and on base percentage but in the end you can't buy playoff magic. That has to be earned
This is where the Legend of Starlord began.
Ya está, soy fan de los A's.
Sounds like fortune cookie wisdom.
why-baseball-is-sweet
Like si vienes de la película de netflix: el juego de la fortuna !!!
I hope billy told that one guy off that swore they wouldn’t win a game
Why they gotta copy the movie? Try being original MLB! Smh!
You can't make this stuff up.
優勝
This was and is how the Oakland Coliseum should be remembered when the A’s leave for Vegas
man
Pratt CRUSHED that ball
Wow
As I recall, the Royals were down big in this game (11-0), and rallied late to tie this game in the 9th inning, only to lose it in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the A’s their 20th consecutive win. It’s almost as if the Athletics “felt sorry” for the Royals and said “Okay, we’ll give you a chance in this game”, and then once the Royals tied it, the A’s said “Ha!! Fooled you!!! You didn’t REALLY think we were going to let you win this game, did you?”
It’s too bad that this Oakland team couldn’t go farther into the playoffs, as they lost in the division series in game 5 to the Minnesota Twins, and in the end, it was the Anaheim Angels that ended up winning the 2002 World Series over the San Francisco Giants.
Insane to think Oakland baseball was something back then. Now it’s nothing. Even with the SNY booth to help, the Mets games in Oakland were tough to watch.
Now this is part of the Las Vegas Athletics history
Love seeing men celebrate its like they are little boys again makes me cry it’s so beautiful
Some moments will never be forgotten. This is one of those "I know where I was" moments in sports.

Baseball ….. gotta love it
Wowwwww
“Whoever calls me back first gets Venafro”
For all those who said the A's couldn't draw in oakland. All the home wins during that 20 game win streak were mostly sellout. In fact they drew well over 2 million for the season.
what's forgotten about this homerun, was that it wasn't barely a homerun, that ball was crushed.
Too bad the Rangers are breaking this streak in 2023
Sad what they've done to the athletics. Look they even sold the seats in Mt. Davis back then
Who’s here via hologram watching this in 3002? 👽 🎉🎉🎉
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
How can you NOT be romantic about baseball?
His fielding does not matter. He gets on base.
