  1. Statement from the Brazilian MMA Commission overseeing the event;

    "There’s nothing in the rules that specific prohibits a man to fight a woman, but when you interpret the rules you know that both athletes must be in the same level, so there’s no way a man should be allowed to fight a woman," Maia told MMAFighting.com.

    "We haven’t received the official card yet from the promotion, we’ll get that (on Thursday) at the weigh-ins," he continued. "I wasn’t informed about that yet. They announced it to the media only, but if you ask me if we’re allowing it to happen, I don’t think so. I think it’s a disparity. We’ll see what’s going on tomorrow at the weigh-ins."

  2. Yeah ok, many fans (I assume), want to see Condit-Diaz fight but Condit Woodley is a great matchup. I think Condit will win but I wish it'll be a great fight nonetheless

  3. I think Koscheck vs. Ellenberger makes sense right now too. I see that fight ending in a KO or split decision. I also want to see Brown vs. Story.

  4. I'm all for women's MMA, but this is just trash. MMA should be more profession in approving fights. I'm not sexist. I can't stress that enough. But  this seems for of a horrible idea for a fight. Like Robin said, it's a lose lose situation. If the athletic commission doesn't get it shit  tighter, it well never be approved in New York.
