Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic said the “whole world will miss” Luka Modric if he decides to retire from international duty after the World Cup third-place play-off.

Dalic admitted that the 37-year-old midfielder was “very disappointed” and “hit really hard” by Tuesday’s 3-0 semi-final defeat by Argentina which extinguished hopes of reaching a second successive final.
