If you watch, Silva goes down putting his hands down as he lands. He was not out then. And he tried to grapple and defend at first. The worst Big John did was allow 1 extra punch. Silva slipped one punch and then ate 2 more. Roy has to get punished to keep other fighter from having this attitude of "I'm a better judge of the fight than the ref so it's OK for me to take swipe."
McCarthy told Nelson to keep swinging. McCarthy needs to be addressed as well. If he is putting fighters into dangerous positions and not stopping extra damage from being taken on, then McCarthy needs to go away as well.

Wasn't he just semi-feigning kicking him? Roy is a huuuge dude if he kicked Big John, John wudda gone flying… and John smiled and gave Roy an attaboy as he left–he didn't look anywhere need mad…? AND the footage cuts away at the climax of action??

that fight should have been stopped earlier…but at the same time, there's NO WAY Roy can be touching, let along kicking a ref either… you voice your concerns with the higher ups in a private conversation…NOT by kicking (even if it was a light tap) right after the match..
Roy just gave Dana the perfect reason to make his life at HW either a contract killer or to make him fight as if he never been a top 10 fighter.
Roy can't help himself sometimes & is his own worst own worst enemy, thinking he is not part of the HUGE wheel that is now the UFC under Reebok.
I hope Dana just shrugs this off like Big John did. But somehow I think Dana will use it to make Big Countries life a nightmare to continue at HW.
Let's be real, the kick he gave Big John was more of a push & I was kicked harder by unborn daughter than this near 300lb man trained to kick to inflict damage! Big Johns a vet. He'll forget this overnight.
And would Big Foot have stopped wailing on Roy in the same position? Hell no. So yes it was wrong, but haven't the UFC got better things to do like test their fighters better for PED/IV abuse???

Its not just this one incident, he and big john do not get along anyways… The fight should have been stopped, this is happening more and more, bad refs! When you combine that with the whole steroid scandal that has arose from Brock vs Hunt, that is why Roy is acting the way he is… Dirty business can bring out the meanest in people!!!

the refs look for specific types of movements to determine how bad of a knockdown it is. that was a tough one with silva. he attempted to brace his fall (look at his right arm as he goes down) then he landed on his butt, then looked like he was about to move his arms up to defend his head. he was not out cold immediately and if the fight was stopped after the first punch john would've looked silly. silva would've recovered from the first in 5 seconds.
"Big Foot WASN'T COMPLETELY OUT???" True, he was still semi conscious (rolling eyes). I'm not a huge McCarthy fan but this was a more than fair stoppage.

They should have also suspended John McCarthy too, for not protecting the fighters. The fighters are expendable in the UFC. Dana White who never fights, decides that if a fighter isn't prepared to put up with the injuries and conditions of the UFC, they don't mean shit.

Frankly..I like and respect Roy. It was a love tap…yeah a little disrespectful and I'd have a sit down w Roy about that…but Dana White has never said anything nice about Roy. I don't agree that Roy committed a capital crime here.
