Yet he continues to start with two teenagers in midfield who have no effect on the game along with two defensive midfielders in Rice and Philipps. The man hasn't a clue and of course, Kane is so desperate to get the ball he's having to drop back to retrieve the ball. Sterling is absolutely useless and has no purpose on the field because he can't get around defences. Two players I'd never play in a world cup are headless chickens Rashford and Sterling yet it is these overrated brainless fools who'll start the next game. Expect Grealish and Sancho to warm the bench again with the milky bar kids taking up the attacking midfield options. He's going defensive again with Rice and Philips as this man is way out of his dept.

The Scotland game was a good and professional result for England because it did what was needed to progress while pacing the team for a full tournament and resting legs. The only risk was in winning the game as we needed long shots and crosses from Trent Arnold who was not there and Trippier who was rested, while unfortunately Kane seemed hesitant to shoot from far, but the rest for Tripper to be ready for the Czechs game was the right decision in the long term of the competition. However, the idea that Foden played better than Sterling against Scotland or is a better player than Sterling is a joke, and possibly a racist joke that has been running for too long because of two or three final months of the Manchester City season in which Foden played more regularly than Sterling only for those two or three months. To use those 2 to 3 months as an argument ignoring the rest of the season is ridiculous as the length of time of consistency Sterling has maintained at a high level and won so many medals over 5 long years is suddenly being so conveniently ignored for reasons that cannot have anything to do with football and must have more to do with race. Sterling is doing his job well for England which is to be a threat to the opposition with his speed his dribbling and his assists going forward, and has added a goal to put the cherry on the cake, whilst putting in his defensive duties. Foden has delivered nothing in what is expected of him and that is to deliver goals like he does for Manchester City any time an opportunity arrives, but in these too Euro finals games just like in the champions league final, he has struggled, which is ok because he needs time to gain experience and grow by playing these extreme high pressure games and that is what Pep and Gareth are giving him. We do not need to put him under pressure by criticising experienced people like Sterling and others of experience who play with him and Southgate who manages manages him, who are all there to help him grow as part of a normal process to produce great performances on the biggest world stages such as the Champion league final, the Euros Finals and the World Cup Finals. Idiotic voices like Ian Wright and others thinking Foden is delivering when his main reason to be on the pitch is goals is and he has scored none need to be told to take a break and stop spewing negativity into the minds of the supporters who then take it to the pitch and so harming England's progress. People want goals from Sterling and he has scored, they want assists and he has delivered assists to Foden and others that should have scored. They want him to be a threat to the opposition and produce panic through his dribbling and speed and he has done that. His performances have been the best out of the front three players in both games and Ian Wright wants him replaced when substitutions are being made. What a joke and how does he get paid for a job he clearly is clueless in and simply spends his time spewing views others bring up motivated by racism in hope he will keep his job and salary if he does. What have Foden and Kane done that means Sterling should go off and why should Sterling be expected to do everything and then still be criticised when we lose or draw, as with the Scotland game, or ignored when we win, as with Croatia when calls were made by pundits for Phillips to be made man of the match, not Sterling. Seriously, we have to stop bullying our most consistent, most experienced and most successful player if we really want to support England.
