  2. Musah looks like a proper player. If we could get him & Fofana (Monaco) for £40-45m combined that would give us proper midfield depth (maybe a bit defensive depending on formation).

  3. There is no evidence that Moyes would play a 20yo though Gonzo. Luizao is 21 and seems to have vanished from the face of the earth. Hope you're right though and Moyes can spell his name for the team sheet 🙂

  4. As an American, he is undoubtedly the best midfielder, and probably the best US player we’ve ever seen. He was starting in the team at 18 just like Pulisic was, but is quick, strong, technical, similar to Onana. Would be thrilled if we actually managed to sign him

  5. Sorry, would any player of note consider West Ham when the world knows what a crap house manager we have, would they risk their careers on Moyes?

  6. I'm from the US. I watch the national team a lot. Musah is really quality. Much more attacking than Dec so a different type of player. As an American i am biased because i would love to see American players play for West Ham, but I'd think he'd be good in the prem, but would need a more defensive option to play with him.

  7. What a signing this would be! But seems a little too good to be true. I think it would depend a lot on whether or not we have European football next season.

  8. As a USA fan, boy would I be excited to get Musah. He is unreal and would be a huge plus to our midfield with the loss of Declan. Very excited player and has everything. Best midfielder the USA have easy.

  9. One question needs too be asked. Why did Arsenal let him leave. ?Now it may not be a issue . They saw him for a few years. And now they want Declan. Again. Not a issue. However if they knew they was going to need too fill that position. Why didn’t they keep him around. Or loan him out for a couple of seasons.

  10. Irrespective if this is true or not or whose decision it is to sign a particular player, we shouldn’t be targeting many players from foreign leagues because, according to Moyes, that is one of the main reasons for our poor PL performances. If that is genuinely true then replacing our most consistent player with someone who will take Moyes 3/4 of the season to integrate just about sums up our forward thinking!

  11. Musah – Valencia.
    Lavia – Southampton.
    Gallagher – Chelsea.
    Phillips – Man City.
    Onana – Everton.

Any 2 or 3 of these guys will set us up. The Rice money would cover the fees with ease!

    Moyes OUT…
We have some great players but a poor manager.

  12. American Hammer here. Musah is one of our best young players (probably our BEST young player) and he would be an excellent signing, but he's not a holding mid in a double pivot as a like-for-like Declan Rice replacement. He's more of a progressive box-to-box. I don't think he'd fare all that well if asked to get stuck in and protect the back line….just not who he is. You want him in build up play, taking on defenders and facilitating.

  13. The guy looks really good actually I just really really hope we replace soucek he can’t pass to save his life we need to be quicker and more progressive

  14. Tbh I don't really care who we sign as long as it follows a plan, isn't scatter gun and left to the last minute – we can't afford another summer like that.

  15. I’d love to sign Musah, he looks so good in the USMNT. If we get him and also Balogun from Arsenal in a swap deal for Rice, who just chose to play for the US at the national level… that would be such a good marketing ploy by the west ham board to gain exposure in the US. Not to mention they are both young talented players that would only increase in value. Please please Sully make a smart move for once and do whatever you need to do to get this done 🙏

  16. Would you rather have a better manager then moyes or a manager that has potential to bring in players we need? I said this weeks ago and maybe overthinking it. But marsh could be a way to get mckennie and/or pulisic. Yunus could be the first part of a bigger picture.

  17. Don't know enough about him what I'm wanting to see how Rice is deployed under another manager hence why i wouldn't want the guy ur talking about coz under Moyes we'd never see his best

  18. He wouldnt be an exact replacement for Rice but would be an excellent adition to our squad. As an American Hammer I hope we sign him

  19. I'm delighted to see this kid thrown into the mix, but do we have two years to nurture and mold his talent? It would be a huge gamble to think he's ready for the prem. I'm smitten with his confidence and his front-foot mentality, but he's not ready to start. He could definitely grow into a stalwart Super Scott Parker box-to-box starter, but at the moment, he's only ready for a subs role when we need to attack, he's not ready for a defensive mid run out yet. I'd pick up Musah and sub him in next season for Soucek, start him in domestic cup matches, and get him working hard on his defensive skills and mentality. I just haven't seen him getting stuck in defensively, especially not for Valencia. Let's get him for 25, work on his future, and find us a proper cdm to camp out behind Soucek and Paqueta next season. Maybe poach ready-to-go Onana if the Toffees bow out.

    EDIT: One for the future.

  20. As an American, I've watched a ton of Musah. He's my favorite player on the USA national team. Incredibly well rounded and versatile, box to box but needs to work on final pass/product. Always gives his all for the NT. He's struggled a bit with work rate/consistency this year but it's not a huge concern. Would LOVE this signing. We will be able to sell him on for much much more than we buy him

  21. American Hammer here, Musah should always be a yes if you’re questioning it.

Do I think Moyes could ruin him, probably. Moyes could ruin any player. But he’s a quality, hard working, and technical player.

  22. I was really excited about Haller, and Paqueta and Cornet and Areola.. and the list goes on. With the manager that we have, i'm not excited about anybody coming in. Take a look at Pablo Fornals. Thats what can happen to a player under this manager. The best signing we could make next season would be a new manager. That to me would make all the difference and would be an amazing start.

  23. Yunus Musah can't be a like for like replacement for Declan Rice, Musah can pass tackle and get goals. He can do a job out wide. Natural leader too, speaks Italian & Spanish fluently.
