Mutaz Barshimยดs two centimeters short of the current world record in high jumping. His personal best is 243 cm. This season Mutaz is aiming to surpass this record in order to write high jumping history and he is willing to put in the work it will take to get there.

  1. Before anyone says something about he not going deep on the squats; those are 1/3 squats to work the reactive-elastic strength. Athletes in track & field /jumpers mostly) look for that.

  2. "Everybody is born to be somebody, put in the work and dedication and you are going to be somebody" I say this to myself before every jump if I'm not doing good and it always seems to work. Love this guy, he's going to break the world record.

  3. I've see all the greatest HJ'ers and this kid is better than them all. He may be 2cm short of the WR, but he has cleared the bar on sub-WR heights that would easily be a WR. He is a remarkable athlete and will someday break Sotomayors WR.
