  1. Nunez, Gakpo, Diaz, and Jota are all very different players. They all offer something different, and they are all dangerous to opposing defenses in different ways. They all can play on the left, and barring Diaz, as far as where he has played, Nunez is not a false 9, whereas Gakpo can play as a false 9.

Gakpo can also play in midfield. He did well against Brentford in that ACM role. It doesn't mean that Klopp cannot play them both at the same time with Jota or Diaz on the left, just as he did against Brentford yesterday, or even with Gakpo on the left or vice versa, when Diaz is not starting. This kind of flexibility can be a good thing to throw off the opposition.

I have read many posts, and it would seem that many of you have written off Nunez. He is a work in progress, and I believe that he will find his form. At the moment, he is lacking in confidence and is also lacking consistency in his ability to finish, whereas Gakpo (as well as Jota) has been in form. What Nunez needs is more time to gel with the rest of the team. Everyone develops at their own pace. The good thing about him is that he doesn't give up. He keeps on trying. Nunez didn't do too well at Benfica his first year there, but he was extremely dangerous in the second year. Who knows, after a good pre-season with the new signings, maybe the same will happen next year. Let's hope it does happen that both Nunez and Gakpo (along with everyone else on the team) become a real threat to opposing defenses.

  2. Iv seen enough to see that Nunez to become central figure for Liverpool is moving in between lines he’s just got to relax more in front of the goal don’t forget it’s is first season in the league next season we are going to witness a real baller believe me has pep and kloop has said he’s a long term project just be patient and believe we are Liverpool this means much more ynwa

  3. why not both, I mean they are both good LW too and pretty fluid at that, just need some time to perfect the combination and voila.

  4. i think it depends what options we have out wide and what team we’re against. Games where teams sit back deep we’ll want nunez cus he’s better in the air and can find gaps anywhere whereas teams where it’s harder to keep the ball gakpo might be better as he can get on the ball and feed the wide players. Also if we’re playing with diaz out wide nunez might be better cus he’s more in behind whereas if we play with jota out wide we’ll need gakpo cus he’ll help jota get into better positions
