The current model of selling Assets every year in order to build or strengthen is a nonsense.
Celtic haven’t qualified for the knockout stages of the CL since 2012-13.
The current model kicked in proper in the Summer of 2013.
These two things aren’t unrelated.
Yes it has transformed the finances off the park but it has definitely affected results in it.
The Sevco built a side over 3 years and never sold any key assets whilst they did so.
They reached a Europa League Final as a result and narrowly missed out on qualification of the CL proper as winners on penalties.
No sooner had they done so their Board decided to cash in on two key assets in Aribo and Bassey.
The result of that decision was of course a badly needed boost in finances off the park but a horrendous CL campaign on it.
All they had built had basically fell away to what we have seen this Season.
Celtic have no actual requirement to sell assets as we currently sit with a healthy bank balance ,CL on the cards and apparently a couple of transfer windfall’s in the pipeline with Frimpong and possibly Tierney should he want a move from Arsenal due to lack of game time.
Yet the talk seems to be operation sell to buy.
I think the fanbase has been gradually led down the road by the nose into thinking playing Transfer bingo is somehow going to increase our chances on the bigger stage in Europe?
Well the last 10 Seasons of doing so would seem to counter that argument and the only true winners are of course the Investors who always have one eye firmly fixed on their returns.
Now it could well be the case that Ange has the magic dust to make it work in Europe but that remains to be seen.
We finished bottom of the Group last Season with no wins.
Glorious failure is ultimately still failure.
If the plan is to improve then you really need to build on what you have and get rid of the players who aren’t contributing to any great extent.Not selling proven assets gambling on unproven assets because it might be two steps back to take two forward.
Ie All you are achieving is standing still.
That’s been the case from 2013.
We’ve gone from last 16 to lost 17 in the CL.
This isn’t a rant but merely a frustration at how our Board fail to look at the bigger picture on the park.

Younger Ange-style goalkeeper, pacey creative right winger, powerful skillful striker – that's what I would be looking for assuming Abada goes. Maybe Starfelt will be off and new CB in. Don't really want to sell any midfielders but money talks and they cost so little that the offers might be attractive.
Think some people are fine wi an injury to ccv as we've decent cover for him but remember he's an important part of our team and slots in well with starfelt, our defensive cover for ccv ain't been tested to the max like they will be in the SF, it's a worry for me and I'm hoping he'll make it for the semi as our defence seems to be bit more rigid with starfelt and ccv the main partnership HH up the mighty CELTIC GLASGOW ✊🍀💚✊
Leave it to big Ange bud, he's on the ball " PROJECTION". The only problem we have and it is a big problem is if he keeps losing his players it will piss him off, it would annoy anyone, we should be trying our upmost best to keep Abada and the likes, the club are in a comfortable positions financially.
If n were selling Abada we 100% need a replacement on the right. We can’t keep chucking Jota over there. I’d love to see young Vata get more mins towards the tail end.

At least Ange bought Kobayashi, he knew that failing to plan means planning to fail. I'm happy with Starfelt and Kobayashi going forward, let CCV get surgery ASAP. Hatate and O Riley are going nowhere, Abada leaving isn't a problem plenty cover there.
Wish Carter Vickers has a successful operation. He is such a great player.

A top quality video as always 👏👏. CCV is a major loss but Ange has made sure we have alternatives who can step up when needed. Abada can go as far as I'm concerned. A good player but not a first team starter. Reo will be going nowhere I think and I hope, but I trust Ange to keep this momentum going. The man is class and a forward thinker, he won't let things slip. HH mon the hoops 🏴
A lot of people wanting Starfelt to leave in the summer – personally I think he has been a good signing and Ange seems to rate him. That's good enough for me. If he goes it won't be until summer '24 as Ange will want to bed in a new CB first and not leave us too exposed for our CL campaign,
